Re: "Junioring" children's names?
My oldest son is named after his father (my fiancee). It was funny because I asked him if he wanted out baby to have his name if it were to be a boy and he was SO AGAINST it.
But then when the baby was born - after he had the chance to get to know him - I asked if he wanted to name the baby Vincent or Jonah - 2 names we had narrowed it to. He grew very coy and sheepish. I said "You want him to be Robert, don't you?" and he did. And he is.
Robbie has a different middle name - and his last name is hyphenated, so I don't think there would be the same challenges as some people might have with the EXACT name. It is cute though - Robbie always calls himself Robbie or Robert and says that he can't wait to be a grown up so he can be ROB like his dad.

DS is a junior and now I kind of wish we hadn't. DH always answers when I say DS's name.

Re: "Junioring" children's names?
Sorry to crash as well, but our will be Christopher Michael, III.
Since DH is a junior, I left it up to him really, it isn't my place to decide if a family name ends with my child. My FIL is deceased, and more than naming our son after DH, we are naming him after FIL. He will be called Christopher (DH is Chris) and we have also considered using Trey or Chip if they fit him as he gets older.
Ironically, if we were having a girl, I wanted her to have a name from my dad's side of the family as a middle name, so we'd have a girl with the middle name of Floyd or Parker
