I tried to post last night but the site was down.
I took the class at B&N last night
I left early b/c the older people were asking so many questions it was going to run into midnight. I found some of it useful esp. keeping it on Airplane mode if you have the WIFI version to save battery use.
Here is a problem I'm having. I watched the video link you posted which helped me, but I'm stuck.
I have ADE and was able to download a book from the library.
- I see the book.
- I dragged and dropped in the nook icon.
- Book is not on my nook when I look in my library.
- When I look at nook in My Computer it is showing the book is there.
- Shouldn't it be in my library?
Does that mean it's in the nook and I can't find it?
You should have 2 libraries in your nook.
1 - Your BN document/library
2- The other place is "my document". That's where my library books are. Not in my BN library.

the issue is i probably opened the ade file before hooking up the nook and the error message i'm getting "unauthorized user" is because the nook isn't registered w ade
i went to b&n tonight and the nook expert from my class told me to try it again. if not, he said to bring my laptop in this week and he can help me
thanks i'm not giving up! i love it!

I've read that if you register your ADE with a different email address than you register your Nook then sometimes it can get a little hairy.
Don't forget there is a 'check for updated content' selection in the 'my library' menu. If something isn't showing up if I hit that it will refresh.
As for the library books, it will check all libraries in the county that are participating in the ebooks program. It's county wide not just the library you got your card from.
If you are really having issues finding something, look into alternate counties. I live in Suffolk but work in Nassau. The library in the town I work in will issue library cards to people who work there if you show work ID. So I also have a Nassau card. I was talking to CathyB, and you can get a NYC public library card for free if you live or work in NY - you just need to go there and show ID. I also have a library card from the Philadelphia library, it's 15.00 per year but they have a huge e-library. (They had 6 books on my wish list there that were not available in Nassau or Suffolk.)
Yes, sometimes it stinks that you have to wait; but it's free. I'll wait a little bit to get free books. I've had my nook for a little over a month now, have read 14 books and so far I've only paid for 1. The rest all came from the library.

Does anyone know how to authorize their Nook? I used to same email address to open all my nook accounts.
I'm on hold w/ B&N...for some reason the first time I plugged nook into my computer, it didn't ask me in ADE and now I'm not able to open my book.
It's there in My Documents but can't be opened.

Have an appt. Thurs. eve to come in which is so nice of them. It's something to do w/ ADE and they will assist me.

He was able to authorize my nook for me and get going...he's in the Manhasset store. Nicest guy and so much patience.
I'm up & reading Loving Frank starting tomorrow!

I can't locate it?
I downloaded 2 books last night -- so easy!

The book I downloaded doesn't support the nook work look up.
Other books I have do.
