I loved it. LOVED. she was true to herself. hair, makeup, dress, flowers..it all looked like it would have been that way whether she married Prince William or Billy O'Connell and I love that.
she didn't have to buy a blinged out "I am a princess for a day" dress b/c she's a princess for LIFE.
I DO think though, that she slimmed down a bit too much.
I also thought her sister's dress was FABU. very sexy in cut but totally appropriate for the occassion.
Bravo, middleton girls. Bravo!!!
Agreed..all of it.

Re: Kate's dress
I AM A HUGE fan of Princess Diana's dress. I love it, I've always loved it. It was so disney princess and growing up in the late 80, early 90s I always knew when I got married that I wanted a HUGE poofy princess dress.
I think the dress Kate wore was very much her style. She looked beautiful, timeless, and classy, but for me, it was missing that extra princess feel.
Anyone know what shoes she was wearing?

I loved it. Simple, elegant, timeless - I feel like that is how she looks all the time, so it suited her perfectly. I thought the lace was lovely, her hair was lovely, the tiara was lovely. I loved everything about it!

Re: Kate's dress
I loved it and thought the overall look was very regal and timeless. It was actually almost exactly what I pictured it would be. I didn't love the way the veil looked with the tiara when the veil was back, but I think that just didn't come off well on camera.
Her shoes were McQueen as well.

I thought she was perfect. Hair down made the entire look more youthful. She was really just--perfect. I loved the dress.

I loved it! Elegant, simple, flattering!
Saw it on the news this morning I thought was was very befitting for a modern princess and a 6am ceremony on a chilly English morning.
You know that it was 11am there, right? Still chilly though.
Didn't the whole hoopla start at 6am though? Although in Englad I would imagine it's equally chilly at 6 AND 11 am.

Re: Kate's dress
The BBC has just shown them leaving Clarence House to go to Buckingham Palace for the reception and Kate is wearing a different, strapless Sarah Burton for McQueen dress...but unfortunately due to what seems like bad police organisation, they didn't do a walk about...so we only have heard a description of the dress, and not seen it. Damn.

I see strapless gowns mentioned, but to be married at the Abbey I believe she was required to have her shoulders and arms covered.

Re: Kate's dress
the girl would look good dressed in a bag
but i agree- i was hoping for more fashion forward- something more avant garde
she looked breathtaking- no doubt- but with how they are so "modern" i was expecting sometghing different

Yes, that is correct - they said that on the broadcast as we saw her for the first time.

I just saw the reception dress on the BBC. It's GORGEOUS!
I loved her wedding dress. I am usually not for too simple dresses for those affairs but it was so perfect for her. I thought she would have gone even simplier. I think some people thought too but she might have had to glam it up a bit.
There is actually a lot of lace appliques on the bottom of the dress. It's not just satin.
I DO feel though that her bouquet was a bit too small and looked a bit "sad".

Very pretty, love both dresses.
I thought Camilla looked really nice for the ceremony, why on earth would she pick that mumu for the reception?

Re: Kate's dress
I was very disappointed in the dress. I expect something to WOW me and it didnt. It was a dress that I could see on any bride. It wasnt special in any way. Diana's dress was ugly, but it was over the top! I think a royal wedding dress should be over the top. So while Kate's dress was prettier, I like Diana's dress better for the statement it made!

Re: Kate's dress
Her dress was what I had envisioned her wearing. I thought it was beautiful and elegant and very fitting to her style. However, I wished she had a cathedral veil with the lace edging. That would've been stunning!
