Does sugar mean a UTI?
I always thought they checked for that as well.

It would indicate that they have to run further tests. But it can be an indicator of GD.

nope that would be by doing a white blood coint, bacteria count in urine. Offices usually dont do that, they send it out.

" Oh - its just some shmutz in your vagina"

Re: Kinda dumb question...when we pee at every appt, what exactly are they testing for?

Here is what it is for...

Your urine will be tested at each prenatal visit. This test checks the levels of sugar and protein. Often, sugar in the urine is normal in pregnancy. High levels of sugar could be a sign of diabetes. Protein in the urine may be a sign of urinary tract infection, kidney disease, or high blood pressure that occurs in late pregnancy. The urine test also is used to check for infections of the bladder and kidneys. If these problems occur, they can be treated.

This is what I used to get spoken to about when I had horrible m/s.

And yes, they'd tell you right away if something is wrong.
