Kings Park school district/town
I am reading mixed reviews on line. DH and I are considering a move there. I always considered it a nice family oriented town from what I knew of it, lots of colonials in the area we are considering. Anyone live there or know of people there? Is it a nice place to raise a family? Good place for 2 professional parents? We feel the location is ideal for commutes and such and near my family.
TIA!

I am a KPHS graduate and my mom still lives there. It is a nice middle class (or slightly higher) neighborhood, safe, good schools and lots of great playgrounds!! I still bring my 2 young boys to them when we visit Grandma!! I would say all in all, it is a nice place to raise a family.

Re: Kings Park school district/town
I keep hearing the term middle class and to be honest, by todays standards not sure what that implies. We are both 6 fig earners, but with disgusting student loans... our current neighborhood I have considered BC and middle class... we do not fit in. Without offending anyone, I'd like a better fit for our family. I mean, these are almost million dollar homes on the block we are looking... maybe my current isn't quite middle class... I'm not sure. Never really paid attention, but don't want to move, pay all this money and be in the same place with a house 5 times the size of my current... I am also in Nassau right now... so maybe that's the difference.

I grew up there as did DH and its a GREAT GREAT GREAT TOWN! The people are wonderful, after youve been there for a while youll know everyone! The schools are FANTASTIC! It ranges from blue collar to very well to do families, depends on the neighborhood. I dont have a bad thing to say about it, DH and I are DYING to move back.
What area are you looking in?
You can FM me with any specific questions you have.

Re: Kings Park school district/town
DH grew up there. I would move there without hesitation. Nice town, good schools, active community.
As for as middle class, I wouldn't say that the average household in KP is making over 200K but thats not to say there arent plenty of people in that situation. We know people who live on Sunken Meadow Rd in easily a 2M home who make more than I can even say.
Also when your kids go to school they will also attend with some kids from Fort Salonga, which has a repuation for being a more affluent area than KP.
Either way, I dont know what you are looking for in a town so I can't say you will or will not fit but I personally would be happy living and raising my family there.
