kitchen remodel

Can you recommend someone for a full kitchen gut and remodel? I don't want to be my own GC. I want to hire one company to do EVERYTHING. I know some people get architects and then a cabinet company and a separate contractor to gut and install. Seems like that would cost double than one company that can do it all w/an in house architect. ...?

For now I don't want Lowes or Home Depot b/c they charge to come to the home to measure and many companies won't charge anything. We are still figuring out best layouts so I want more opinions before i start paying people. We want to do the remodel in 2016 so I have a little time but it'll be a big project. I don't want to use Allure.

I used mark field from field construction. He has a small business and does most himself but also brings in a electrician and plumber for a kitchen. For cabinets he sent me to a cabinet guy he has a connection with and it was 1/2 of the price of Home Depot cabinets and they are semi custom! If you look down I just made a whole post of my renovations :)

I was so happy with everything and I love my new home :)

I had an inital drawing made by homedepot just to know what I wanted but it was easy because my kitchen is small. Then I had a different drawing done by a cabinet company he works with and finally I got one from the guy that did my cabinets. His price was surprisingly less. My contractor also has connections with kitchen and bath showrooms so he was able to get me all my fixtures discounted.

Thanks. I feel like I called them and they charged a fee even to consult with us in our home and they also were just a cabinet company and I needed a separate contractor? Maybe I'm thonking of someone else? I don't want to pay for someone to come to my home to measure and give an estimate unless and until I know I am using them. There are plenty of companies that provide that service free


Eta- im not looking for the layout in writing for free. I get that that's not fair and I can bring someone else's vision to multiple companies for estimates... But even for them to keep the layout, discuss design, and give an estimate. I've gotten a few good ideas and estimates but everyone has a different vision and very diff price and im not yet sold.

thank you everyone. I don't want to do anything myself-even if that means spending a little more. The only thing i want to do is pick out my stuff LOL

I used an independent contractor who has an electrician and floor person he works with. I ordered my cabinets through a local cabinet company and they had a designer who helped me pick out tile, granite, wood stain, paint colors, faucets, and knobs. Very very helpful. My contractor did all of the installation. His name is Julius, very talented man. FM for his number. My cabinet person was Bruce at Five star kitchen cabinetry in Valley Stream.
