Kitchen remodel questions
We are in the process of redoing the kitchen and I am thinking about a few extras...
Built in soap dispenser.... Do you have one? Do you love it?
my concern is it will get all junked up and/or leak
Touch Faucet..... I love the idea of this, but is it ? are there any issues with the touch feaure?
I worry this is so new and may not work as good as they say it will, I remember my mothers old touch lamps that only worked for couple years...lol
TIA
edit for my horrible spelling

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
We briefly considered touch faucets, but then i thought of my one cat who always likes to jump up to the sink and try to play with whatever water is there. I can just imagine him rubbing his face against the faucet, it turning on, and then staying on all day!
So we didn't go further with that option.
I don't have any info on the soap dispenser though, sorry.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
We didn't put in a built in soap dispenser b/c we didnt want to put a lot of holes in the countertops, for that reason we went with a faucet that has the hot/cold lever attached and not seperate. We didn't do a touch faucet b/c we didn't find the need. We are happy with both decisions.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
I havent remodeled my kitchen BUT I plan to in a few yrs. Touch faucet...I see the point the PP made but I dont have a cat and never will. DH & I love to cook and we def plan of getting the touch faucet (the ones we have looked at range about $200 - $400).
My father's wife got the built in soap dispenser when she redid her kitchen a few yrs ago. She NEVER used it. She said it was a PIA to refill. Now there are motion sensor soap dispensers. I already have one & think its awesome. So I will continue to use that.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
We did our kitchen last year and put in a built-in soap dispenser. I was a little freaked about putting an extra hole in my beautiful new countertop for something I might not even like or find useful, but I decided that compared to having a soap dispenser sitting on top of my countertop (I hate clutter), it was the lesser of the two evils. I'm SO glad we did the built-in. I love my soap dispenser, it's easy to fill and works great.
We didn't do the touch faucet because I wasn't crazy about any of the style options. Our faucet has a single lever to turn it on and off and it just takes the gentlest push with the back of my hand, I can't imagine a touch faucet being that much better.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
I have never - in five years - used my built in soap dispenser. It just seemed like a project to fill.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
Not sure if there is more than 1 type of soap dispenser but to fill mine I just open the top on the counter and pour in the soap. I dont have to go underneath the cabinet or anything.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
We have a built in soap dispenser. I just pull up the pump, not screwed in, and refill. I refill it with a squeeze bottle so it doesn't overflow. I hate the clutter of a bottle of soap on the counter. In previous kitchens I would always put the soap in a cabinet and that took up cabinet space.
As far as the faucet I have the hot/cold in the one piece lever.

Re: Kitchen remodel questions
My mom has the built-in soap dispenser and it works GREAT -- one less thing to have on the counter and it's very easy to refill (just lift it out of the spot, dispense some from your soap bottle and put it back).
No advice for the touch sink except I read last year that they were collectors for germs...
