Re: ladies that have given birth...can you please tell me
I guess I am in the minority...my labor was not that bad (I only had true labor for like 3 hours before I got my epidural - my contractions were 2 minutes apart with the pitocin)
I had a c-section and the recovery was not that bad either...I was lucky

Re: ladies that have given birth...can you please tell me
I had a great pregnancy and a fairly easy labor...contractions felt like AF cramps until I was about 7 cm, then it hurt worse but totally bearable.

You'll need to wear a pantiliner everyday.
Yup - almost a year later, and I STILL have to wear a pantiliner every day

There is NO comparison between period cramps and contractions/delivery. None. whatsoever.

Re: ladies that have given birth...can you please tell me
I labored for 72 hours with Noah and let me tell you...cramps are like a pleasurable feeling compared to labor pains!!! Your whole body tightens up and tingles with the pain!
But the reward is AMAZING!!!

I'd rather have my period than be pregnant and give birth. Believe me, it's a wonderful thing. But I'd much rather pop a few Tylenols for my cramps than walk around with a huge belly and swollen ankles. Labor pains are like period cramps times 1,000.
Let's not get into recovery from a c-setction...
ditto. Although I don't feel like labor pains are even comparitive to period cramps!! for me anyway

You have no idea. I had to endure back labor for close to 10 unmedicated hours. The pain starts in your back and radiates all around to the front of your belly, and the pain is about 100X worse than your worst period cramps (and I've had period cramps so bad that I've passed out - that was NOTHING).
I'd take period cramps ANY day. And, like Stefanie, they are a cake-walk compared to your recovery from a c-section
Same here. Not only did I have the back labor, but I also had severe back pain throughout my pregnancy.
I have always had very bad cramps...where I would have to lay curled up, doubled over. Now, after DS, I still get cramps just not as severe.

Labor was nothing like period cramps but I would love to be pregnant and give birth a hundred times over because you get a baby.

Re: ladies that have given birth...can you please tell me
aww, we are KILLING this poor girl! lol listen, for me, and maybe for a lot of people, being pg was great (i got lucky, but yeah, theres the extra weight, the lower back pain, the cankles , the water-retention face, the breakouts---what ever pg did for any/all/some of us)...but trust all of us when we say that these DCs of ours are 100X easier to take care of inside than outside, and trust me (at least i feel this way)- DD is 10 months old, and i look at preggo women walking around, and i think to myself how beautiful they are, how that was me last summer, walking around 7/8/9 months pregnant in tight shirts so my belly stuck out for all to see that i HAD ANOTHER LIFE growing inside of me- something you went half on with your hubby....i look at these preggo women and love that they are bringing a life into this world, and i wish i was pregnant again- not because im dying for another child right now (note- hands so full with a 10 month old, but lovin the back pain that comes from a needy DD or an anxious DD that needs to walk when she sees ground, and her being 30 inches tall does nothing for me to bend down and hold her hand when im 5'10! haha)...but bc being pregnant is being beautiful, the way we used to be able to see our toes, the way we look down and see this big old belly, and we rub it with such love, the way we lay in bed on our side with a pillow between our legs and count their kicks and flutters, bc feeling those first butterfly flutters is amazing, bc every sonogram and seeing a beating heart makes u melt inside, bc choosing a salad instead of a burger bc we think its healthier for the baby.....being pg hurts, but it is awesome....and take note, that once you bring this beautiful child into the world, even on the days when you STILL hurt, or 10 months down the road when u have a massive migraine and just want to lay down, you have another life to care for, and somehow, someway, you forget about your pain and read Goodnite Moon for the 100th time and play peekaboo for the zillionth time----enjoy pg pain while it is YOURS, and trust me, thru the contractions and thru the pushing and the sweating and the "get this child out of me" grunts...a few months down the line, youll see a 9 month old pregnant woman, and look at your 3 month old child, and think "man, that was not so bad....."
congratulations and good luck-

Re: ladies that have given birth...can you please tell me
I would take being PG any day over AF every single month. I HATE her!! Not really the cramps, it's just a pain in the azz!!!
and p/s - the last month of my PG was miserable! Plus add the back labor and ultimate c-section, then 6 months of BFing but I'd still do it again just to avoid AF if I could.
