Ladies that were induced....Please help me!!

Well, I went for a sono today...I'm 37 weeks 2 days.....and my fluid was borderline. So, tomorrow I have to go to back to the doctors for another sono to check fluid levels.

If still borderline or lower, I will be sent to the hospital to be induced. I really do not want to go that route.

I'm a little nervous, I'm drinking tons and tons of water, hoping that will bring up my fluid level.

Anyway, Wanted to know if the cervadil worked, or did you get a c-section?

Thanks!!

Michelle, please relax. I know it's easier said than done.

Let me tell you that giving birth isn't easy, no matter the route you choose. That's why they call it labor. But doctors know what they are doing. Drink water now and listen to your doctors. YOu can't prepeare for a c-section or what can happen during labor.

All that matters is when you hold your son for the first time. HE IS YOUR SON!!!! It doesn't matter how he comes into this Earth! God Bless you Michelle! I will be waiting to hear all about it!!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I had cervidil, which was followed by a Pitocin drip twelve hours later. Both did little (3cm!). However, once the doctor ruptured my water, DD was born within ten minutes! Go figure.

I was terrified of induction, but really, it was quite an ok experience!

I was induced 2x's in one day!!! I had twins, they were an hour and a half apart. I went to 0 centimeters after I delivered the first. I did not have a c-section. It really was fine. You'll be ok...keep drinkin your water!!!

I had cervadil and pitocin.

My water broke but I had barely any contractions, so they wanted to bring on labor. I did dilate the full 10..pushed for 3 hours but she just wouldnt descend. Wound up with an emergency c section. But I know it doesnt always turn out like that. Chat Icon

I had the best induction ever! I was 37.5 weeks, zero effacement or dilation.

Cervadil went in, worked like a charm, got my pitocin and an epidural, and I had DD vaginally 12 hours later.

Re: Ladies that were induced....Please help me!!

My fluid was really low (I was also late at that point) and on the days I did drink a ton of water I saw an increase when I went back.

Try not to worry - if you have to get induced it may not end up in a c-section. I was induced and I did end up with a section but my son was 10lbs.

Good luck!!! You sound just like my friend. She went to the doctor yesterday and her amniotic fluids were low and she was being induced last night! I"m still waiting on word if her baby boy was born!!

I did get induced with the pitocin and i did have to get a c-section 12 hours later cause DD moved, but the whole experience wasn't as bad as i thought it would be!! The ending result is so worth it anyway!!! Chat Icon

I had cervadil and a pitocin drip. 30 hours after my water broke, I only got to 2cms.
I ended up in a c section.

The cervadil worked for me, but the pitocin brought the progress to a complete halt. After 22 hrs I was still only 3cms (and that was from the cervadil) I wound up with a c-section, but he had his cord wrapped around his neckChat Icon

Re: Ladies that were induced....Please help me!!

I was on my way to labor, contracting every 5 minutes - I couldn't feel them - and I was 3cm dilated and 80% effaced. I had pitocin only. For me, it seemed to speed up and intensify the contractions but was slow to make me progress. I had DD nearly 24 hours later, after 2 hours of pushing.

I wouldn't want to be induced again but if it's what's best for the baby, then I would do it. Good luck to you, I hope your fluid levels are back up!

I was induced and ended up getting a c-section. I never dilated but I didn't feel contractions either thank God even with cervadil and several bags of pitocin...that said my c-section experience was wonderful...Chat Icon

Re: Ladies that were induced....Please help me!!

I had an awesome induction. After they took out the cervadil, I was in labor for 6 hours and only pushed for 15 min.

Good Luck.

Re: Ladies that were induced....Please help me!!

I'm sorry things aren't going as you had hoped--I wasn't happy with induction either since you need to be hooked up to monitors, and a lot of the things you could do to help labor along, walking, etc. were out of the question. I did wind up opting for the epidural though I had hoped to go natural.

I was in labor 22 hours, and I think they gave me cervadil to start out if my memory is correct. After that, I had pitocin--it was started at a low level and gradually increased. Even so, the baby did have an episode where he was under a lot of stress due to strong contractions--all was fine, but I would ask your doctor what he/she does when this happens. I was scared to death when it happened and thought my baby was dying, but it's actually pretty common or so they told me.
Ultimately, I did give birth vaginally. Pushing was maybe 45 minutes, maybe a little over an hour? I really don't remember.

Good luck.
