Ladies who were induced...

how long did it take you to give birth after the start of your induction? Did it work or did you need a c-section?

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I checked in at 6:00 pm,
by 6:30 they had started the induction.
At 10:00 am the next morning - they told me I needed a c-section.
DD was born at 10:19

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I was induced starting at midnight on 4/26 with cervedil. I got pitocin at approximately 2:00pm on 4/26 and DS was born at 9:59pm on 4/26 after 1 hour of pushing.

So, 22 hours? I didn't realize it was that long!

Re: Ladies who were induced...

Checked in at 7pm, was in my bed by 7:30pm, started Pitocin (didn't need Cervadil b/c I was already progressing naturally on my own conveniently!) and DD was born at 2:30am...so 7 hours total, with about an hour or so of that of pushing.

ETA: I was 7 days overdue when I went in for my induction, if that matters.

Good luck! Chat Icon

Re: Ladies who were induced...

checked in at 8am
started cervadil at 10am
removed cervadil 11pm

no progress whatsoever - not even a cm dilated.

demanded a c-section instead of doing another 12 hours of cervadil

good thing I did - he was almost 10lbs and the drs. say he would have never come out vaginally

checked in @ 7pm. they did the Cervadil @ 8pm. At 8am the next morning they started the Pitocin. By 9pm I had not dilated even a centimeter so they did a C-section. DD was born @ 9:30pm.

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I was in labor 20 hours with no progress...they wanted a second day of induction, but I was beyond miserable so I chose a C-section...no regrets at all.

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I was brought in at 4:00pm.
Started Cervidil (I was already 3cm).
Cx. started within a few hours, then Cervidil was taken out around 8:00pm, Pitocin was started and I was given an epidural around 10:00pm (at 5 cm).

At 5:00am I hit 9cm.
at 6:00am I was STILL at 9cm.
At 7:02am DS was born via "emergency" cs because my labor had "stalled".

If I only knew then what I know NOW, I would NOT have let them induce me.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I was having mild contractions before going to the hospital. I was 1cm when I was admitted. Got my first cervadil at 11:45 am, dilated to 3 cm and then got another cervadil at 11:45pm (or so). Epidural at 3:30am, dilated to 9cm and removed the cervadil by 5:30 am. Started pushing at 7:30 am, DS born at 8:24am. No pitocin....the contractions from the cervadil were strong enough.

Lots and lots of luck! Chat Icon

Re: Ladies who were induced...

I was given Cevadil at 12pm. It took about 4/5 hours for labor to really start. I gave birth at 1:29 am. So it took 13 hours in all.

Re: Ladies who were induced...

Cervadil approx 4pm on Thurs.
Pitocin approx 8am on Fri.
Fully dilated and started to push 9pm.
Stopped pushing and let epidural wear off.
Starting pushing again 1am Saturday morning. He would have been born after 1/2 hour had he not been sunny side up. I pushed for 4 hours. Ended up needing a c-section, nt for failed induction, but because of his position he would not come out. C-section had to wait for a few emergencies that came in. He was finallt born at 10:32 AM Saturday.

I am almost nervous to tell you!! I was checked in the hospital at 10:30 a.m. on wed. and had a c-section on Friday at 1:30 a.m. The induction did not work - he was not budging.

Re: Ladies who were induced...

SweetCin was induced and after 36 hours she had a c-section.

As you know I had a c-section. My OB said I was NOT a candidate for induction b/c I had not started to dilate, and I was not effaced at all.
