Re: Ladies who were induced...
I had gone to the hospital on Aug 23 at 2pm for a growth sono. My fluids were low so I had to be admitted. They admitted me at 4pm. I was hooked up to IV's to bring my fluids up and was given cervidil at 5pm in the event my fluids did not go up they could continue with induction. At 5am on Aug 24 they came in to check on me and get me ready for an 8am sonogram. At 8am it showed my fluids did not go up and the induction would continue. They gave me the pitocin and told me to rest. Contractions started and they were intense. They were coming in 2 - 3 minutes apart. I was given an epi and oxygen because the contractions were stressing the baby. At 4:45pm my water broke. I still was not dialated. The doctor said she was giving me until 7pm to see if I dialated. At that time we would decide if I needed a c-section. At 7pm I still was not dialated baby was getting stressed and was moving in the opposite direction. The doctor told me I needed a c-section. So they got me prepped and at 9:30p was going in.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
I checked in at 6:00 pm...
Then after an internal and a growth sono and some waiting around, they gave me cervadil at approx. 9:00 pm...
Slept until about 2:00 am - I woke up with some uncomfortable contractions - wasn't dilated enough - they gave me stadol...
If I have another induction in the future I would never take stadol again...I felt like complete h e l l the next morning - like i had the flu...
I was given epidural at around 11:00 am (about 4-5 cm dilated)...given pitocin a little while after....dilated quickly...
Gave birth vaginally at 2:30 - after pushing for about 45 min.!
With the exception of the stadol...it was a very good experience. I would actually recommend being induced!!!

Re: Ladies who were induced...
My water broke. I had no contractions, so, they induced me.
I think it was 11AM Cervadil was inserted. 11PM Cervadil out.
Pitocin started after. Next AM, they checked me, I only got to 2 CMs.
Ended up with a C Section.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
I checked in at 8PM on Wednesday. Started IV etc by 9PM. My water broke (on it's own) at 8:15AM the following morning. My son was born at 6:09PM. It took a LONG time for my dialation. I was only dialated 1/2CM when I was admitted.
Good luck!!

Re: Ladies who were induced...
I checked in at 11am with mild, regular contractions.
Pitocin started at 1pm.
Water broke on its own at 9pm. Contrax got really painful after that.
Started pushing at 9am, had her out at almost 11am.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
Hey James, as Dar said, I was in labor 36 hours.
My water broke on my own (the morning b4 they were going to induce me).
I went in & they started Cervidil at 7pm Friday; then started Pitocin around 10am Saturday. I progressed only to 6-7cm, but baby never dropped. They opted for the CS at 8:30pm Sat. night b/c they said the baby could be in danger b/c my water broke over 24 hours ago.
Good luck in any respect James. I have a feeling you may go b4 Sunday night.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
We got to the hospital at 6. Nothing happened until almost 11 pm, because women were giving birth, and of course, the induction has to wait. I was nervous we'd have to go home.
So the induction went from 11 pm until about 9 pm the following night, 22 hours. No c-section, but I did have an episiotomy.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
Checked in at 9pm Got Cervadil around 10pm Had Cervadil removed at 10am, then showered, ate breakfast and walked around Started Pitocin around 11:30am Got epi at 1pm Felt the urge to push around 4:45pm, but had to wait 15min for the doctor to come from her office Pushed for 15 min and baby was born at 5:21pm
That was my second baby so not sure it that had anything to do with it being such an easy labor.

Re: Ladies who were induced...
I went into the hospital on 9/11 when I was 6 days late and not dilated at all. DS was happy in there! They started the Cervidal that night and then Pitocin the next morning. By 9:30pm on 9/12 I had only dilated 1cm. The dr gave us 3 options. #1-go home and see if I go into labor on my own. If not then start another induction in one week. #2- C-section that night which I was told was not medically necessary but was an option b/c I was late. #3- Another round of induction starting with the cervadil that night and Pitocin the next day (AKA- Serial Induction). If no progress the next afternoon then C-section would be necessary.
We chose the serial induction. By 9:30am 9/13 I was still only 1cm dilated. But, the dr was able to break my water at 10am and I flew into active labor within minutes. 11 1/2 hours later DS was born via vaginal delivery. I couldn't have been happier that we chose not to do that C-section unless medically necessary. My delivery was a breeze!
ETA: I just wanted to add that although DS was stubborn about coming out, I had a really great experience with the induction. I was very scared about the pain factor b/c I heard that the Pitocin makes the contractions more intense but I can honestly say that it really was not as bad as everyone chalked it up to be.
