Ladies whose DH's work in the city.....

My DH works in Brooklyn. I'm so afraid that it's going to take him forever to get to the hospital when I do go into labor.

I pray that I go into labor at night or on the weekend!

Anyone else fear the same thing?

Not really -
I work in the city too - It's going to take me just as much time to get to the hospital !!

That is a fear of mine too. My DH is a cop in Chinatown and he takes the train to work. Once I had a a car accident in Queens and he had to go all the way home on the train to pick up his car and drive into Queens. It took him hours. By the time he got there, I was sitting out on the sidewalk with stitches in my head!

I wouldn't worry, just because you start to go into labor doesn't mean you're going to be heading to the hospital right away. You could have contractions for a very long time at home before it's actually time to call your OB and head on in to the hospital.

I do. My husband works in brooklyn too. Im due in the summer, my fear is that i am going to go to labor, and its going to be a friday night 5pm, and there is going to be alot of traffic lol.

Well we live out near Stony Brook and DH works in Uniondale so it's a good 1 hr to 90 mins with traffic. If I don't have a scheduled c like I did last time, I will be concerned about him not getting there on time.
