do you cook dinner every night?

on the "what's for dinner" threads, I always feel like we're sooooooo boring compared to what some of you cook!

Re: Dinner Q for you ladies who work FT

I pretty much cook 5 days a week. We do take out sushi on thursday nights and will usually go out either Saturday or Sunday night for dinner depending on what we're doing that weekend.

Re: Dinner Q for you ladies who work FT

I try to cook everynight during the school year when I work. I use the crockpot non-stop because its done when I get home and I don't have to do anything else. Now that I am on break I def. cook every night. THis is DH's busy season so he can be home any where from 8:30 pm till 3:30am. So I am by myself and I just cook 1 man meals or buy LC's.

Re: Dinner Q for you ladies who work FT

I *cook* dinner-- meaning, I make myself an egg white omlette and some toast-- or I throw a South Beach Diet frozen pizza in the microwave.

DH makes his own thing-- so, there is no "cooking dinner"...

Even on a day when I get out early-- I am still not home before 6 30 if I am lucky and am STARVING-- I want something fast and healthy.

We cook about 5 or 6 nights a week. I usually try to make more of most things so there are leftovers to freeze.

And I LOVE using my crockpot so meals are yummy and ready when we get home

Re: Dinner Q for you ladies who work FT

I work FT, but I'm really lucky, my husband does the cooking. He gets home earlier than I do, so he cooks. If rolls were reversed I would cook.

My DH gets home later than me but he is the cook for the most part. Sometimes I cook as well. Sometimes we eat leftovers. Its really hard working 9-5, commuting, sometimes going to the gym and cooking for me too so I feel your pain! Sometimes the extent of cooking isnt cooking but nuking unfortunatley.

DH cooks usually about 5 times per week but he's been too preoccupied lately to do it so we've been ordering out every night.

Most of what I cook during the week is quick and on the grill. I usually try to prepare the next nights dinner while that evening's dinner is cooking. Meaning, I will marinade a couple of skirt steaks, or chicken. Or I make something quick and simple like turkey burgers, hamburgers, or like tonight, I threw a few turkey sausages on the grill, made a quick cheese sauce after the cauliflower was cooked and draining. Took just about a half hour.

George Foreman grill is great! When I decide to really cook, dh usually calls from his car, says "Im on the way" and thats when I start preparing dinner. I know I have at least 45 mins. to have it ready.

Tell me about it! DH and I keep dreaming of a magical pill we could just take every night that contains all the nutrients and vitamins we need because (1) we're sick of cooking at the end of a long day and (2) eating the same damn thing every night! Every night we eat either Tilapia or salmon, with rice, cous-cous, or a sweet potato. My taste buds are about to jump out the window Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon And NO we do not cook every night. With a young baby and working full-time, there's just no way!

Re: Dinner Q for you ladies who work FT

I usually cook 2 nights, eat those leftovers for 2 nights, and go out once. That is M-F. On the weekends, it depends on our plans, sometimes we eat out, but I usually cook at least one night of the weekend.

I just cannot cook every night and work full time. I would lose it if I did. I enjoy cooking when I have the time for it, but when cooking after work, I want something fast and simple.
