Landscapers
So they are considered essential? Just for lawn cutting, not for landscape design, mulching, etc right? All I know is that they pack like 5 of them into these trucks, one on top of the other, no masks, nothing. I also saw my neighbors get all their mulch delivered and installed a few weeks ago so I don't think they are following the rules at all. I have to imagine the virus must be spreading like wild fire amongst them looking at the way they are doing business right now.

Landscapers
I know my landscaper started coming last week, to cut the lawn. I didn't see how they arrived.
I am also having a big tree cut back next week - by a tree service company. They are allowed to work. I want to have my driveway redone - those companies were able to give me estimates, but can't do the work yet

Landscapers
We had tree work done before the mask mandate. They arrived in more trucks than usual and each team came on separate days (the cutters, the stump grinding and taking away the large trunks).
Our landscapers are coming - two guys come in two separate trucks wearing masks (even before the mask mandate).

Our landscapers started last week- they do like 6 houses on my block and several houses on the surrounding blocks, so they have a whole crew- they came in more trucks than usual and all wore masks.

Landscapers are essential because of mosquito control.

The ones my co-op hires have been coming the last few weeks. Spring cleanup, seeding, mulching. I have been wondering the same thing. I don't think my garden having mulch is essential. . .

Not sure where you live but where I am from.. "they" do not pack "like 5 of "them" into these trucks "one on top of another"...
Where I live all of the landscapers are adhering to wearing masks and appear to be traveling to and from the location with the allowable number of people in a vehicle.

We are having our driveway redone right now. We were scheduled for the middle of May, but they had so many cancellations, they did it now. Had some trees removed 2 weeks ago. And the landscaper comes next week.
Everyone we've had working here has been wearing masks (even before Cuomo mandated it)

I posted this because they were at my neighbors this morning and packed in just like that. And not with masks Not sure it matters where I live. I live in NY. That is what I saw I didn't just make this up off the top of my head . I guess "they" would be their bosses? The owner of the company? I don't know

I guess it depends on their employer. I know everyone we have had here has worn masks. Our driveway company even said the job would take longer than normal because he can't have his whole crew here. Usually he would have 4-5 guys. We have 2 working here.

I would love it if they would do my driveway now. I thought they'd be able to because they would be outside, but I don't know if they would have to work "close" to each other. But I had 4 companies come for estimates and they all said they couldn't start the work until Cuomo allows it

Ours came and mowed the lawn yesterday. They wear masks normally. They are well over 6 feet apart, outside and wearing masks. I have no idea why they wouldn't work. It seems like the perfect job in terms of social distancing, and I'm sure they're very happy to be getting paid.

I agree... i just know that the governor had said something about only for lawn cutting, nothing else, etc I wasn't sure how they detemine what is essential in terms of landscaping and what isn't. And then the ones I see in my neighborhood weren't being careful- masks, etc... so I wondered

Same in my neighborhood. The cab of those trucks looks like a clown car with all the men getting out....

Re: Landscapers
My guys had masks on with only two in the truck. That's horrible to be piled on top of each other.

As per NYS essential workers guidance- landscaping, but only for maintenance or pest control and not cosmetic purposes.

They are allowed to now. They are allowed to put mulch down. It has something to do with controlling the weeds and keeping the flea and ticks under control.
