Last Minute Disney Trip Questions!
Looks like we are going down to Orlando next Wednesday. I am taking my almost 3yo DD and 10 month old DD with my parents - DH can't take off work.
We can't go to the Magic Kingdom since I want DH to be there when we take the girls, but we are planning on going to Hollywood Studios one day, and then either Typhoon Lagoon or Islands of Adventure the next day (depending on weather and how the girls do at the park).
So, my questions:
We are looking at the Moderate hotels - any one much better than the others?
I was trying to do breakfast at Hollywood and Vine, but it is booked as of now. I will keep checking, but are there any other character experiences at Hollywood Studios or at one of the hotels for breakfast?
Is it better to bring my side by side double stroller or my Uppababy Vista with the second seat (can't use second seat for naps)?
Do the Disney resorts sell diapers for a reasonable price, or is it better to pack my own?
Also, did anyone stay at a Disney hotel and go to Universal? Was it a pain to get there? We aren't planning on renting a car since I don't want to bring the car seats.
Any other info is appreciated. Thanks!

Last Minute Disney Trip Questions!
Islands of Adventure has a lot of height requirements so I would look on their site before you make that decision. We went yesterday and the day before and my kids loved it but my youngest is six. Even many of the Seuss rides had a requirement. We rented a car through Dollar. 109 for a week with tax. I would rent a car over relying on shuttles to get there.

Thanks! DD is very tall - 36 inches - so she meets the height requirement for most of the kids rides. The Dr. Suess ride has a requirement of 40 inches and I have no idea why - it is super mild!

I didn't get a lot of the requirements either! Seemed silly. That whole Seuss area is beyond cute....I loved it! The parks were not busy at all either......so that was great.

Last Minute Disney Trip Questions!
Moderate? Id say Port Orleans French Quarter.. smallest property super simple walk to the buses. It only has one stop too!
I did Caribbean Beach this last time so AJ could have beach time and roast marshmallows but man alive that walk to the bus got old fast and so did waiting for the bus to do its loop on property and pick everyone else up!
I'm going back to the French Quarter next time. I just love the simplicity of it. All of them should have a night time movie too, which was nice to sit down outside with the huge blow up screen and walk a movie and enjoy a snack. AJ made fast friends with the other kids and I got a chance to sit and relax!

Re: Last Minute Disney Trip Questions!
I really loved staying at a universal hotel (Hard Rock & Portofino). The pools are amazing (beach pools complete with a bin with shovels & pails), restaurants are FAR better than Disney, & you get a complimentary fast pass & go to the head of all lines. You get MUCH better hotels for cheaper than the moderate hotels. I'd rent a car, only 1 kid, right? Fly with the car seat. You can ususally only cab it to both parks. Some hotels may have a shuttle... not disney & not universal to both parks.
The height requirements are tough. I seriously counted only 4 or 5 rides a 36 inch kid can go on in the parks (including a carousel). The play areas are very cute though & it's good to bring a bathing suit.

Those internal bus stops are a pain, which is why I won't stay in a moderate. Maybe POFQ. They had them at Saratoga Springs and I hated it!

Thanks. I have stayed at both of those and loved them, but the Hard Rock has no availability, and the other two are crazy expensive - 309 a night for a room with 2 queen beds, and 459 a night for a king room.
ETA I have 2 kids.

Last Minute Disney Trip Questions!
We are going soon too and have to really get planning.
As far as Universal, it's kind of a hike from the parking lot to the Parks. But as long as the kids are in a stroller, I guess it's ok. Not nearly as nice as being dropped off by the hotel boats.

See I found the walk more enjoyable due to the fact that there are moving sidewalks, and the entire walk from the park structure to City Walk is covered so you aren't sweating to death

If you rent a car, I highly suggest the valet parking - it's $30 but oh so worth it!! Cuts off so much of the walking and hassle of the parking garage. After walking the park all day, we were in heaven riding down the escalator and having our car right there!
