Late spinoff to using DC's gift money
If your DC was ill or had something wrong with them and you needed to see a doctor or specialist who was not covered by your insurance, but are the best in their field, would you use their money to pay for it if you didn't have it?

Without question. I'd beg borrow or steal the $$$ if my DC needed medical help, as I think most parents would.
Years ago I had quit a job and needed emergency surgery while i had no insurance; the wonderful doctors that operated on me agreed to only charge me the $ amount that my last insurance would NOT have covered, so a $50K hospital/surgery bill only cost me about $6k. I was young, and it took 2 years to pay off, but they were outstanding to do that for me - try to work with the doctor and see what can be done!1!
I think it would be a priviledge to participate in any fundraising that can be done to support your DD!!!! Can we hold a raffle???? Can anyone donate something that we can all buy chances on??? Would LIF be up for sponsoring something?????? I'm going to pray that the fundraising goddesses on here come up with something, I want to help!!!!

I would use the money in a heartbeat. Wouldn't feel guilty, wouldn't worry about replacing it. What better gift to give your child than to give them the best medical care they can get?
The fundraiser idea was great, I would love to donate or participate for a good cause like that.
