laundry question.... white diaper creme spot on grey cotton
argh! no, it isn't DS's clothing... it's MINE. I accidentally sat on an open sample of desitin I got it on my good grey skirt (cotton, machine washable)
Oxy won't work on zinc oxide... that's inorganic... I tried spot treating it with detergent before popping it in the wash, and it made the stain lighter... but it's STILL THERE... I repeated that process a couple times and....
I'm thinking pine sol From my experience, it gets out grease sometimes... has anyone else removed desitin in the past?
TIA

Re: laundry question.... white diaper creme spot on grey cotton
I found this online
Fill a sink with hot water and laundry detergent, and soak the garment. Then gently rub the fabric together over the spot to remove the oil in the cream. Next, empty the sink and refill with white vinegar, soaking the garment for 15 minutes to remove the zinc oxide. Then wash as normal. The diaper rash cream will be gone!

I also found this
You should be able to remove Desitin ointment (zinc oxide diaper rash ointment) from clothing by first scraping off as much of the ointment as possible with a dull knife. Then, pour some baking powder on the spot, give it time to absorb the grease, then brush off. Saturate the stain with liquid laundry detergent or a laundry stain remover. Wash as usual.
