Laundry room makeover -- does it make doing laundry a little bit better?
No! 
But, I love the way it turned out.
Since most of the colors in our home pretty neutral (not very bright) we decided to have fun with the laundry room.
So we went with a lime green, Valspar's "Herb Cornucopia". We were in home depot and this was an idea we got while there so we went with Valspar paint. I have to say, we like it just as much as BM!
We took an old ikea shelf that was oak, painted it a bright white and mounted it above the washer and dryer.
We still want to get some fabric to hang underneath the shelves angled behind the washer/dryer to cover all the crazy plugs and wires... and put in new lighting.

Yeah the novelty of a laundry room wore off mighty quick...maybe if we put a TV and a computer in there I would like being in there a little bit more

Love it! Wish I had room for shelves like that. My laundry room is a laundry closet...stacked full size washer & dryer in a closet in the hall just off the kitchen with enough room in front for a basket but its better then the basement!!!!!

For the amount of time we spend doing laundry, that's not a bad idea!

Love it Jess! Great color. I can't wait to redo ours. It helps some to redo a laundry room, but not enough I guess.

Love it!
We have officially switched to Valspar exclusively! DH does the painting - he hated BM but loves Valspar!!!
I would totally put in some cute baskets on that Ikea shelf and fill it with laundry things (or hold missing socks! LOL).

It came out awesome !!!  I like the idea of going a little bolder than you would in the regular rooms too ! Our laundry room is going to be the last thing we do so I'm looking forward to being a little crazy with it !

I have to say, since my laundry room has been redone, it makes it better!!!!
My laundry room is on the 2nd floor where all the bedrooms are. And we did a tropical theme!

We definitely don't hate BM, we actually really like it, but I have to say that Valspar is great too. Awesome coverage and we only needed one coat! We actually have 1/2 the gallon of this paint left over.
Oh and you totally read my mind... i was going to stop at Target later to pick up some baskets for the top of the shelf. We also might put a single shelf above that one also.

I love love love it, I am totally for the idea of painting smaller rooms like that a fun color. I did a similar thing with my guest bath, its purple!
