Leap pad 2. For an advanced 2 yr old
Am I nuts? My son is just about to turn 2 He is advanced for his age he can count to twenty on his own, sing the alphabet and knows all his shapes. Today he was out on a walk with my dh saw a stop sign and said daddy octagon. He uses apps on my iPad but I don't want him thinking the iPad is his to use So should I get him a leap pad for Xmas? Anyone else get one for a 2 yr old

Re: Leap pad 2. For an advanced 2 yr old
My DD got one last christmas and she was only 19 months. She needed assistance using it but i wasnt looking for a "babysitter" anyway so it was fine. She is now 2.4 and uses it independently and loves it. Just need to get the apps for preschoolers thats all.

I'm def not looking for a babysitter. I'm hands on with everything my lil guy does lol. I'm also a teacher myself. I just didn't know if this was too advance for him to play with.

Eh. I'm very happy for my ds to play independently- call it what you will, lol. Anyway, he is 2 1/2 and getting it for Xmas. He has played with my tablet since about 1 1/2 but in a more limited way. Up until recently I had to open the apps for him, fix it when he accidentally closed it out, etc. Now he can do that by himself, so bring on the babysitting!

Leap pad 2. For an advanced 2 yr old
Not too young at all!! I'm gettin my twins, who will be 2 in two weeks, tablets. They play with our iPhones all the time and our iPad. So I am going to get them their own tablets for Christmas. I just figured if I was going to spend $100 on the leap pad, them I'll just go out on Black Friday and get them regular tablets for $100.00 each. And I won't have to spend a fortune on games. There's tons of free apps.

Sorry...I really didn't mean anything by the "babysitter" comment (bad wording choice I guess), just trying to say that at the time, since she was a bit young for it, I expected to have to play with her with it so to speak . Now she plays with it "independently" (or works more like a babysitter :) meaning I don't have to stay with her while she plays and I am also grateful for that as well :).

Can I ask where u can get an iPad for $100? That might actually be worth going out on Black Friday for!

Oh no! I didn't mean an iPad tablet. They play with our iPad but I'm getting them android tablets. Best buy, office max, kohls, all have tablets on sale for around $70-$100. Sorry, I didn't mean to lead you to believe it was an iPad!!!!!!

Re: Leap pad 2. For an advanced 2 yr old
I got it for my son at two.
He loves taking care of the pet and has a few other games, but does not play with it too much. I would have been better off putting the money towards an tablet with more suitable apps.
But he still asks for it and you son seems like he can handle it like my son.
