Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
Here's the scoop:
We have a poster on the board - who I won't name - with a potentially SERIOUS health issue. Something that she has been ignoring for MONTHS because she's deathly afraid to find out it's something much, much worse.
I've already typed her the riot act about it. I've pointed out the being there for your baby thing, the need to take care of something before it gets much worse. She now claims she's going to try to reschedule the appointment. It's great if she does, but my worry is that she's going to chicken out & CANCEL again.
Without scaring her further (because let's face it she's already thinking the worse), let's give her hugs & prayers to get her azz in gear & go to the doctor.
So dear anonymous Poster/friend - GO! DO NOT PROCRASTINATE FURTHER. Stop worrying about your body parts & find out what the issue is.

I have to agree with Barbara here - whoever you are go to the Doctor. Odds are it's not going to be as bad as you may think and even if it is, the sooner you take care of things the better. DO NOT PUT THIS OFF ANY LONGER!!

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
Not for nothing i have very little tolerance for people like this...
If you think something is seriously wrong...GET IT CHECKED OUT.
It just may be serious but if caught EARLY then it could be dealt with...
WAITING COULD MEAN YOUR FLUCKING LIFE...
HONESTLY.....i just have NO tolerance for this kind of stupidity

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
Please, please go!!!!
Denying any potential problem is NOT going to make it go away. If anything, it will only get worse.
You can't fool around with your health. If you don't have your health NOTHING else matters.
Please just go! It might be nothing right now but ignoring it... it will become a problem.
Please do not be embarassed in the presence of doctors, they have seen and heard it all. You will not be the first and probably will not be the last.
AGain, PLEASE go!!!

Please take care of yourself!! Chances are, it's not as bad as you think and you are just causing yourself more anxiety, which isn't helping!

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
Ok, anonymous poster who is avoiding the Dr - here is just ONE reason why you should go: because your worrying that it's something horrible is probably far worse than it actually is.
WhatEVER it is, as we all know too well, the outcome is always better if it's caught earlier. So what are you waiting for? GO!

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
please go. Especially if you have children....
My dad put off a doctors visit and ended up dying of colon cancer because he waited too long. Turns out colon cancer is one of the most treatable cancers as long as you catch it early... if he wold have gone to the doctor right away when he was supposed to he wouldnt have died... PLEASE GO!!!

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
BUT...If I were the Poster in Question, some of these replies would scare me even more into not going...Hope this thread does at least prove people worry about those they care about and like someone said, its almost always less serious then you think.

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
Please go - I understand that it's terrifying - a few years ago i put off getting a mole that had suddenly started bleeding/scabbing removed because I didn't want to know. It ended up being NOTHING and I slept so much better once I knew.
And, if it does end up being something, the sooner you can get on your way to getting better.
and for you.

Re: Lecturing a poster...feel free to join in with your own lecture
As someone who has just gone through something similar, please go to the doctor.
I was dreading my follow up cardiologist appointment, BUT I feel better knowing they did all of the tests before something major like a heart attack or worse happened to me. I am on meds now and it sucks, but I know I was proactive about my condition and they caught the problem early. I feel thankful that they noticed the problem early. It means more time with my DD, DH and doggie. You know, they started me on meds and we are seeing where that leads. I might need surgery, I may not. This I know for sure, if I had ignored, procrastinated, and shoved it under the rug I would be having open heart surgery eighter in a few months or a year from now. THANK GOD I was proactive and so was my doctor.
We are here for you and please go to the doctor.
