yes we try to every few weeks. MIL is always very willing to watch the DC so we take advantage of the free babysitter.

Our favorite place to go is Dave and Busters or Bowling.

I def. want to go out just the two of us. I figured once Jack is a month old we'll leave him with my parents and go out to dinner. I think it's good to have alone time.

This is also what I say now....get back to me in two weeks.

Now that we're at my mom's house, yes. Every Sunday we've been going to dinner and a movie. Other than that, no because he works every night during the week. Honestly, we're enjoying our time looking for a house because we're staying with my parents and every weekend, we put the baby to sleep and do something for ourselves. They're home anyway, so all I do is give them the monitor and we're good to go. But before this, we hardly ever did anything. I just don't want to put that responsibility on my family to watch her and I don't really like spending money on a babysitter. I'm cheap, I can't help it

no not regularly....usually for a wedding, engagement party or a birthday

NO...we have been "out" once in 17mths and that was to a work event for two hours that was not fun but I had to attend and DH came with me. We have no immediate family living near us and no reliable babysitter.

Yes- I couldn't live without it! DH works a lot and we don't get much alone time these day so every other week or so, my parents get DD.

Sadly, no. We have no family or friends close by. Actually I do have one friend and she & her FH have offered and I would take her up on it, but they are always so busy. We went out to dinner once when we were on vacation with my parents. My mom is coming next week so we can go to the Jimmy Buffett concert and maybe we'll get out once by ourselves too. I know I should find a babysitter, but I still can't seem to bring myself to hire a "stranger" to watch Lily yet. I'm getting there though. I know we desperately need it.

Not really...for our anniversary we did.

I was TRYING to plan a little vacation for just the 2 of us...unfortunately, my DH doesn't want to go somewhere warm, when it's already summer (a cruise or something) and has no other suggesstions. We just had a huge blowout over this. My mom already took days off to watch DD. UGH...I'm so upset

We went out maybe 3 times since the baby has been here (once for our anniversary, once for SIL's b-day and once for DH's birthday)

Yes and we are going away without Andrew for 3 days.

My parent's take him overnight a lot so we can have some time to go to the movies or dinner.

not really. We went out to dinner for my Bday (2 months ago) and an engagement party recently and stuff like that. I feel bad asking family to come watch him (even though they totally would) just for us to go on a date. I guess we could get a babysitter, but we haven't done that yet.

DD is 13 months old and we have been out only twice. Both were for friend's birthdays so it wasn't even just the two of us like a date. My birthday is coming up and I think we are going to actually go out.

We'd like to and although my SIL always says she'll babysit I never really take her up on it. We should get out more often. Even a light dinner and a movie would be great!

Yes. But I'm married almost 13 years and have a 9 and a 4 year old. I found we just had to learn to make this a habit. I'd say we go out every 3 weeks or so alone or sometimes with another couple. It really is a good thing and a sitter is cheaper than a marriage counselor.

Yes! My IL's and my parents are great and will watch Julia anytime we need them, they also live like 5 mins away from us, which is nice.

We try to go out once a week if we can.

Once amonth we go out to dinner. My parents watch him. I find it really relaxing and I can have acouple of drinks.

No, the last time was for DH's birthday the first week of February.

Things have been really hectic for a lot of our family members, so we feel guilty asking them to watch the kids. Plus DH works such long hours during the week that he likes to stay home on the weekends.

ETA: My mom has already volunteered to babysit so we can go see Harry Potter in IMAX. I love the HP books.

Often.

In the last month,we've been to 3 concerts, a night out with some friends & a brunch with the two of us.

Sounds like a lot but most were during the week or after they were in bed.

We have a weekend in Manhattan coming up - not sure if the kids are coming or not.
