Re: Let me ask you a question

Not really, and it sucks because our schedules are so opposite we hardly ever see each other. My parents are 40 minutes away, so it's not just a quick drop off. And DH's dad lives right by us, but I'm not as comfortable leaving him with him for that long.

Re: Let me ask you a question

Since we brought Lily home, I think we've been out alone once a week every week. Both of our parents live close by and she is their first grandchild, so they're always more than happy to watch her for us so we can get some time alone.

The other day my MIL actually called us and asked if she coud watch Lily for a few hours! Chat Icon . So we said sure, went and got dinner and then hung out at the house for a little bit - just the two of us.

I know we are incredibly fortunate! Chat Icon

Re: Let me ask you a question

The last time we went out just the 2 of us was April.Chat Icon With no family in the area, it is hard for us to find someone to watch Bella. However, next weekend we are going away for 3 whole days for our Anniversary and are leaving Bella with my parents.

Re: Let me ask you a question

We've been to 2 weddings recently, does that count? Chat Icon

DH & I have gone to dinner a few times in the past few months (more than we ever have for a long time). It's a late dinner though. With 3 young kids, I don't feel comfortable asking someone to come over and coordinate dinner, baths and getting them to bed so the only time I can enjoy is when I know they are either in bed already or just about to go. I wish we did it more when we had one child or even 2. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Our dinner out rule is to not sit there and talk about the kids. We could spend the entire dinner doing that but instead we try to reconnect. We've also had date nights where we stayed home too. After they are in bed, spend some time not watching TV, not cleaning, not discussing finances, not talking about the kids. I like those too - sometimes DH has gone on ice cream runs for those Chat Icon

Re: Let me ask you a question

yes DH and I go out. My parents and wonderful. They would watch Emma every weekend if I wanted to go out with DH, but I am not taking advantage of them. We go out maybe every other weekend. I would like to try and get my husbands mom to watch Emma more on the weekend so my parents don't do it ever time. Only thing is I don't think she would come here to watch Emma. We'd have to drive from Merrick to Islip which is a pain.

No. We never get out. We don't have family near us and we haven't found a sitter close by.

The last time we went back to our home state a couple weeks ago, we whooped it up for 2 nights while the grandmas had DD. Chat Icon

Re: Let me ask you a question

We went out last night to see Harry Potter.

Only when I got home I realized that we didn't kiss or snuggle or do anything couplely while we were out.

It was like two friends going to the movies. Chat Icon

Yes - although it is not often enough.

Maybe like once every 2 - 3 months.
