SJP...the flower scene in the streets broke my heart with Big. So sad...
Nah. Big apologized and told her he paniced and was on his way back to the wedding (and she could see that was where he was headed). But she just attacked him anyway and left. And she was most concerned about being "humiliated".
She should have just gone back to the library with him, gotten married and she wouldn't have had to be "humiliated". She could have at least talked about it.
But then they would have lost a hour and half of the movie (which come to think of it, would have made the movie just about as long as the content they genuinely had for it.

I was so excited for the movie, but I have to say I was disappointed too.
I just felt like the movie wasn't as relatable as the show was.
Like I didn't find myself feeling a connection with the story lines or the girls. I don't know. And I DEFINITELY didn't feel a connection with the material things in the movie, like the fashion/makeup/ etc. I felt like everything----the story, the characters, the fashion was over the top. And I know the show sometimes felt that way too, but not overall. I don't know I was expecting something that just wasn't there.

I was so excited for this movie, i am a HUGE fan of the show.
It fell short for me. My FH really liked it, and i was disappointed.
First off, the past few weeks i have been studying, and watching the first few seasons, to really see what big did to Carrie, how he jerked her around for years and years.
Married Natasha like it was nothing, hurt her so much. And she takes him back in the finale because he tells her that she is the one.
The wedding scene, the most F-ed up thing i have ever seen. She should of never taken him back...what was he unsure of?
why couldnt he get out of the car.
I heard the movie is about forgiveness, and i was disappointed they had Steve Cheat...he is so not like that from the show, he would never of done that. They really tarnished his image.
Charlotte has the perfect life and that is how her story line will always be.
Carrie should of never of taken big back, and she should of met someone else and moved on with her life.
Where do you draw the line of forgiveness or Doormat.
Cause to me that is what Carrie is a doormat.

Okay one more thing I HAD to add....
Did anyone else notice that on a few occasions Carrie slept with a pearl necklace on??? Like pajamas and a pearl necklace??
What was up with that??? Realistically that would be so uncomfortable! Your hair would get caught!!! Your skin would get pinched! Ouch!

I wanted to kick people in the shins when they would tell me friend who was adopting after 5 years of IF, "That's great! I'm sure you'll get pregnant now. Happens to everyone."
As if adoption was the cure for IF.
I saw the movie with that girlfriend & as soon as she said it, we both looked at each other &

As i just posted on the NFR thread on this topic, i thought it was OUTSTANDING!! I mean, im reading some posters saying "this was unrealistic" and "that was unrealistic" but if you watched the show from its beginning, there are TONS of "unrealistic" things about the show, you just have to know that and love that about it.
I think it was 100% true to its character, as were all the characters themselves. I loved it ALOT and cant wait to see it again and again.

I feel like I just watched an entire season of SATC! I loved it! Who cares if it is not realistic---thats why I always loved the show! BUT--- I was waiting for Big to arrive streetside in his car!!!
The storyline with Steve and Miranda---great---very real!
OH and I have to agree with the poster about Carrie just being upset because Big HUMILIATED her----not exactly the words I would have chosen...but then again...it is what she turned the wedding into

I thought it was true to the characters. My sister and I loved the part with Miranda's lack of waxing, and Samantha told her she has to take care of that "situation" and made the circular hand movement in the air...we were dying!!!

Overall I loved the movie, I read the entire thread so I dont want to rehash stuff but other random thoughts I had..
I was suprised at how much the guy playing Steve aged.. He looked very different in the movie imo..
I thought Jennifer Hudson was the worst actress I have ever seen in my life..and I am no fashionista but was the LV bag she got supposed to be pretty? HIDEOUS!
I LOVED when Carrie shouted JOHN!! into the apartment, :)

I agree - Steve really aged a lot! and Miranda did too. she looked better towards the end of the movie than at the beginning. there was a close up shot of her after the 1st time they had sex and her neck had a lot of wrinkles. getting old sucks

I loved the movie!!! Even though I didnt like what Big did I admit im glad they ended up together. My heart broke for Carrie when she ran out of the limo and then when they were in Mexico. I felt so bad for her. I also glad Steve and Miranda worked things out. I didnt like the whole LA thing either. It didnt fit into the movie.

I just saw it today with my GFs. I really enjoyed it, but I had low expectations. I thought it was fun- and pretty funny at parts. I was definitely enertained.
Samantha: I liked the ending. She had to be true to herself- and she is not a monogmous person. I think its fair, some people just aren't. Better to acknowledge who you are and accept it. I can understand that- I can't imagine moving across the country to focus all about the man. I LOVED her point about wanting to buy the ring for herself. Its great to see an independent woman being celebrated!
Miranda: I liked what they did with her. They had a problem. Separated. Went to therapy and moved on. I thought it was great.
Charlette: They didn't really give her a storyline- but she was very funny! My mom's best friend adopted two boys and then got pregnant with her third- this was before the days of IVF. It does happen. I wish they would have given her more of a storyline than this.
Carrie: What can you say? You had to know she would have a happy ending with Big. The movie was meant to leave women feeling good and happy. But I agree- she could have just been rational when he came back and gotten married wtihout a hitch. But then there wouldn't be any conflict- and Carrie is always conflicted.
Louise/Jennifer Hudson: Was SO out of place. The script for her was terrible!!! I felt so embarrased for her. The writing was awful.
ETA: They totally wasted Stanford and Mario Cantone's charachter. They coudl have been used so much for than for a few comic relief moments.

something else that's "bothering me"...
after what happened at the wedding, the most Big could do was send Carrie a bunch of emails?   that is BEYOND messed up! he should have hunted her down like he did during the show (the last season) and BEGGED.
it was approx 9 or 10 months (Charlotte's entire pregnancy) between the day of the wedding and when they saw each other again in the 5th Ave apartment. weird
I agree. This killed it for me. This movie also killed the series finale for me forever in my heart.

I liked the movie- and was happy with all the outcomes (except that Samantha is alone- although that's what she wants so it's good).
I don't think what Big did was SOO bad. He was on his way back!! He didn't leave her at the alter. He was TRYING to get in touch with her. I dunno- I probably would've beaten him with a bouquet too, but I'm not sorry she forgave him and got back together.
I thought alot of the clothes in the movie were HORRIBLE!! (except for the more simple things- carrie's sundresses and charlottes wardrobe). Does anyone in the world actually wear couture styles to walk around manhattan?! The worst were Carrie's dress for the fashion show and Miranda's outfit at the engagement party, AND the wedding gown.
I'm sorry-but that thing was HIDEOUS!!! The whole look was horrible- the bright red lips, the bird, the WAY too big-on-top dress. Yuck. If the dress fit better it wouldn't have been so bad.

The more I think about it, the more annoyed I am about the wedding breakup. It wasn't really original. I had my cell and DH and I texted each other the whole day. He never thinks to call someone else to talk to her? When she turns her head and he sees her -- he doesn't get that feeling of love? If he really need to just walk in there with her - why not have had the driver go get her or jump out... it was her fault she didn't turn around to see him in the tinted car? And, he didn't have ANY guys with him at all? I know he is a loner, but still... I think I would have liked a different plot line to get them to "seperate" for a while.
I was also dissapointed about not seeing what the public library looked like all dressed up for her wedding (the tables, etc.).

I thought so too!!  Every thing about it was perfect. I LOVED how they really went in the other direction. I mean they focused on SO much more than "sex" and "man-bashing" and the usual cliches the show focused on. I think they put such depth into each character and made them so much more real.
