Re: Levittown School district residents budget vote?
Is there going to be a re-vote?
I agree with all statements made about the superintendent but without a budget pass means programs will be cut, teachers will be cut and who knows what else. Fight about the salary of the higher ups within the budget but don't vote no only because of that and the tax increase. Our taxes are going to go up no matter what...that is the price you pay for living on LI.

There will most likely be a revote. This needs to pass. The kids are the ones who suffer here.

Re: Levittown School district residents budget vote?
There are serious problems going on in Levittown for them to be asking for a 6.12% increase. That's CRAZY!
I just looked at the newsday link that had all the schools.
Levittown is asking for the highest increase (of all the schools of at least normal size).
How come Levittown has to ask for over 6%, yet Island Trees only asked for 1.24%.
There is a big problem there, especially knowing Levittown already has pretty high taxes. I always felt Levittown was a good SD, but the taxes are crazy.
Now I didn't vote in their district, but I am sure this is the taxpayers way of saying "ENOUGH!".
