LIF friends vs. Real life friends
i know we all have met and became friendly with some people on here. do you feel closer to them than the people you've known for a number of years. there's a few that i feel closer to than the people that i know for years

I met some people on here but i have become friends with 2 people off the boards and they have become very good friends of mine and i'm glad to know them, as for my real friends they are just as special!

I have met a few LIFers at a few GTGs.
I have been friends with Ro (Luvsbob) for about 20 years (Poor me...LMAO..J/K Ro )
I "Chat" with some LIFers on AIM as well. I keep in touch with some old LIFers through MySpace.
My real life friends...There is a group of about 12 of us! We are very close and have been for the past several years. Celebrate New Years together, Go on vacations, and Some of us couples even had babies this year. Our kids are all a few months apart.
I have to say I really do get along with everyone.
I really enjoy this site (I think you can tell by the 20,000+) Posts...LOL

yeah, the friends I have met here are pretty much the only friends I have because my two best friends live in Colombia.
Unfortunately, I have lost touch with some of them because they are not here anymore or they rarely post.

That's a tough question. The few girls that I do know 'off the boards' are wonderful people and I absolutely consider them very good friends.
But the friends that I have had for years have been with me through thick and thin - most of the people that I have been friends with IRL for years have been friends for more than a decade. It is hard to compare a person who helped you deal with your first heartbreak to someone that you met only a year or so ago.
I think the girls that I am friends with from the boards have the potential to become as close to me as my other friends are.. but it takes time and experience to get there!

I have actually never met anyone from LIF in "real life"! So I am definitely closer to my real life friends than LIF friends.

I am kinda leary of the idea of meeting people off the internet.. I know you ladies/some gents might be totally harmless but, I still get freaked out when I hear of stories of people who have met others from the internet..whether it be men or women.

I've met a lot of people (including little Brian). I'm closer to my long-time friends but I think that comes with the familiarity.
Without question, I have made some terrific friends on here that I would go above & beyond.
