lifting heavy things while in the 2WW?
Is it not safe to lift heavy things while in the 2WW wait? I had to lift a 46lb dog today at work and Im currently 5DPO. Would this be damaging if it turns out I am pregnant or is it too early to worry?

Re: lifting heavy things while in the 2WW?
i wouldnt worry i live my life normally during the 2WW, including caffeine and alchohol. when TTC for #1, i was careful the first 2 months but after seeing that we werent pregnant so quickly i just lived my life normally hope that makes sense we are TTC for #2, and i carry my 25lb daughter all day. and if im pregnant i will continue to do so.

no, you can lift stuff while youre pregnant too... otherwise mothers would never be able pick up their other kids and stuff

My DD is 35 lbs and insists on being carried when she gets tired, so I wouldn't worry. Every mom trying for #2 or beyond is lifting heavy objects!

Re: lifting heavy things while in the 2WW?
I know with IUIs my dr says to avoid lifting heavy things. For reference, an IUI is relatively minor and not much different than timed intercourse- the sperm is inserted into the uterus but it's very noninvasive. Once you leave the office, you are like any other woman in the 2ww and all fertilization, etc. takes place inside.
Anyway, I always took that advice and have avoided lifting anything heavy. May as well play it safe and avoid straining anything, etc.

Ah, so the Dr. did tell you to avoid lifting heavy things while in the 2WW or once you found out for sure you were pregnant?

Actually, I don't remember I just always play it safe these days, whether it's really necessary or not. Keep in mind though, I'm traumatized from a loss so I will probably do things different than the average person.
