likes sleeping in the swing
when my son wakes up for his middle of the night feeding, he wont fall back to sleep in the bassinet...but when we put him in the swing, he goes right out...we dont even put the swing on.
any idea on what i can do to make him comfy in his bassinet like he is in the swing?

Re: likes sleeping in the swing
Lily fell asleep in the swing for probably the first 6-7 months of her life. We just let her fall asleep there and then transferred her to the crib once she was in a deep sleep.

Re: likes sleeping in the swing
Yeah Gavin will do that too, but the last few nights we are making a bigger effort to put him down in the crib so he doesn't get too used to the swing. What we have been doing is just rocking him until he is really drowsy and then putting him in the crib. It usually takes several attempts, but each night it seems to go a little easier. Honestly though, if we were having a harder time I would just keep him in the swing. He sleeps so well in there!!

yes, I tried reg swaddling using the blankets from the hospital, and also the miracle blanket....I use it for the first time he goes in at night, but then when he wakes up...it doesnt work to soothe him again.

We like to put him in drowsy, but still awake. It works the first time he goes down, but now when he wakes up again for a bottle...and that is at like 2...so its hard.
Right now he is in our room, in the pack and play (the bassinet was too small, so we tried this). We don't have his crib yet because it is getting delivered to the new house...if we had it, I would have loved to try him in his crib.

Re: likes sleeping in the swing
DD slept great in the swing. So great that we couldn't get her out of it. for 7 months. I was grateful for the sleep, but it was a very tough habit to break. With DD #2, I may eliminate swing sleeping at night completely and just let her fuss in the crib to learn how to put herself to sleep.

he may just like being slightly upright - have you tried a sleep positioner?

Re: likes sleeping in the swing
when you feed him are you holding him? I put my DS in his boppy to feed him, and I don't talk to him. the room only has a nightlight so he doens't really see me. and if he only has a peepee diaper and it's not a lot , I won't change it bc it will wake him up. he wakes up every 2.5 hrs to sleep so I just make sure I put petro jelly on his butt before I put him to bed so he doesn't get a rash.
