Honestly? I would find the comment funny...i take it as a joke referring to him banging his head.

I think if you take the comment by itself, it's hysterical based on your story of how he acted. If you posted the story of how he acted & one of us posted "Happy Birthday to our little headbanger", you probably wouldnt' find it offensive.
It sounds like there is a history there or maybe you thought you were being judged & that's why it annoys you.
I would ignore it.
