Looking for a cake pop or truffle recipes
My DD birthday is mini mouse theme.
I'm having a chocolate cake with strawberry filling, & I wanted to make another dessert.
I thought pops or truffles would be different, but I've never made them.
Any great recipes?
(trying to keep red, white, black, yellow colors)

Re: Looking for a cake pop or truffle recipes
We did Minnie Mouse cake pops for another LIFer and we did double chocolate. Devil's Food cake with hershey's icing recipe. They were REALLY tasty and they came out sooooo cute.
If not, red velvet with cream cheese frosting is my other go-to cake pop.
ETA: Photos. We were originally going to do the pink heart sprinkles like Bakerella uses for the bows, but the came out very small. I melted pink chocolate wafers and piped the bows free hand onto wax paper and attached with melted chocolate. It was very easy to do!

Those cake out great!
Duh, I never thought to pipe the bow prior. I was wondering how I would do that!
I was really just looking for a really tasty ball recipe. I've actually never eaten a cake pop. I'm on the fence between a cake pop or truffle.

Honestly, the truffles are wayyyyyyyyy easier. Cake pops lead to issues like the cake falling off the pop and having to stand there and hold them up while the chocolate dries so it doesn't drip down the stick and then poking holes in a styrofoam block to stand them up before you wrap them. It's a PITA.
The recipe is the same one I use for a regular cake, which I don't have on me- sorry! I thought you were looking more for flavor combos. Whoops!

Re: Looking for a cake pop or truffle recipes
LOL Then maybe I will stick with truffles. And I saw cute red with white polka dot cupcake wrappers to put them in.
I was looking for different recipes in general.
