Looking for some suggestions on moving OOS with pets
Have you driven there yet? From past experience mentally and physically that drive is impossible driving straight through. You HAVE to stop to recharge. If you dont you are putting not only your life but your kids lives in danger. South of the Border has really inexpensive pet friendly motels and gives you the chance to recharge. I dont think your kids are going to be able to handle that drive either without stopping I know I HAVE to stop and recharge half way through or I would lose my mind and I have done the drive numerous times.

Looking for some suggestions on moving OOS with pets
I traveled a lot doing trade shows and our limit is usually 10-12 hours before we stop for the night, It would take me at least 2 days to get to FL. Plus just stopping for meals, bathrooms and gas.
I actually had another thought... what if your husband drove the cats down and then flew back up and then drove down again with a rental? Or something of that nature...

I am here looking for options on how to get them there not get reemed by LIF people for what they "think" I'm trying to do. .
I thought the same thing.
Youa asked for a suggestion and help and ideas. POSTERS said "rehome". You never did.
Actually she said in her original post (which I inserted below) about leaving her pets behind. She said she did not have the money or the room for them. And it seemed if she could not find a way, that might be what she had to do. And in reply to another poster, she did say she would rehome them in reponse, so the implication many made seems pretty correct.
Posted by VTTG0609 I really want to take them but here's the thing We don't have room for them in our truck and we cannot afford to hire a company to transport them for us. Are there any other options ? I don't want to be the one who leaves their pets behind because we are moving but I'm not sure what our options are .

You have to start actively trying to find them homes now, maybe some of them will get adopted.
I hope that you don't leave your cats behind to die.
It's myself, DH, my 3 kids and my mother. I am more than willing to find them homes but I am nervous about finding the right home for all 6 ( separately) I do not plan to leave them to die or put them in a shelter to die. I just need some options
Anyway...her questions are being answered and have been all along as best as people can. And I think people came through with many valid useful suggestions that CAN be done IF someone really wants to take their pet with them.

every poster who read the original post and others following took the posts the same way, that the OP could not afford to ship the cats and as bad as she feels about leaving them behind or rehoming them that is the likely option. OP mentioned rehoming herself in another post. If she had no intention of rehoming the cats that would have been stated. Go back and read the posts again.
Glad that posters came through with solutions to the problem and I hope it works out.
This was a post I just made, saying the same thing, before even reading your post. ITA. I don't think anyone misunderstood the point or read too much into what the OP said. It was clear to me.
I am really not looking to debate but you would never hear me say, ever, I can't find a way to take my pets with me. I would drive for 3 days back and forth to keep my "family" with me. There would be no option. But that's just me anyway.

Yup several times and every time we drive go straight through with stops for food gas and to stretch. We will be purchasing more carrying cases and be squeezing them our cars to take them with us. Thanks for all the help and drama
