Re: Losing a baby at 27 weeks
I am so very sorry to hear this and my heart goes out to your brother, SIL and entire family
In 2005 I gave birth to a beautiful little boy at 26 weeks and he survived for a month. It is such a devastating experience and if you would like any help - please feel free to FM me. Your brother and SIL both are going through the worst thing a parent can ever experience. Being induced to deliver a child that might have died inside of me was something I could not even bear to think about and almost lost my mind over - he survived inside me but couldn't survive outside.
I wish them peace and much strength during this time

Re: Losing a baby at 27 weeks
I am so sorry to hear of your family's loss. Unfortunately, like the other posters have said, anything can happen during a pregnancy at any time including on delivery day. None of us are immune.
And just to add I think Cakes is way off base. Just b/c some of us do not live on the boards 24 hours a day doesn't mean we are fakers. Some of us, like me, have other children, errands, MD appts, and such to take care of.

Re: Losing a baby at 27 weeks
I am so sorry for your family's loss. It is a true tragedy and one that makes no sense at all.
I also understand where Cakes is coming from. I use to try and still try to be mindful about how I speak with pregnant women and stay away from stories that may make someone especially nervous or sad. Just yesterday someone told me to stop drinking caffeine or I could lose my baby not even realizing that I already HAD two recent losses. It felt like a sucker punch to the gut. To be honest, not a day goes by when I havent thought that this pregnancy could end at any time. There is no safety zone.
Everyone has a level of tolerance for things they can handle.

A close co-worker had this happen this year. It was horrific to even imagine having to deliver the baby. I am so truly sorry for your whole family.

Re: Losing a baby at 27 weeks
Iam very sorry. I hate to say this, but that there are a few ob/gyn that are not especialist in high rish pregnancies. And, lots of women who experienes mc over and over again with no specific answer. I would totally recommend seeing a high risk perinatal especialist doctor. I am seeing one now,and he is excellent. FM if you need more info.
