Losing Weight w/out exercise WW only

I joined WW today. I would like to lose 15lbs total. Im not overweight but can stand to lose it. Im 5'5" and weight 144. Do you feel it is possible to lose the weight without exercising?

yes you def. can. IF you are stick with it and follow it you can. I lost 45lbs in 5.5 months i did work out but for the last month or so i didtn work out besides walking 5 days a week for a half hour and i think i lost 10-15lbs of that. I will say it will come off much quicker with working out.

I hate working out but when i do it i do the 30 day shred its a 20min work out

Yes! I have seen many, many members that have lost weight without exercise. Diet is definitely number one. I would still recommend trying to move a little more (like you said, even if you could a little). Not even so much for the weight loss (as that can be done with diet alone) but all for the health benefits of moving!!

Good luck! Chat Icon

Yes! I lost about 40 lbs in 6 months without working out. Maybe some crunches here or there if I remembered.

Yes absolutely! I didn't use WW but I eat 1200 cal a day, and do some walking when I can (maybe 2x a week?) but no real exercise, I'm down 25 lbs since April with a break for vacation in between. Have about 6 lbs left till goal.

It's definitely possible, but you might still not like the way your body looks after losing the weight. Dieting w/o exercise won't build muscle, so you still might feel fat (not saying you're fat at all, you sound thin based on your height and weight).

I agree, add that 1/2 hour walk in, some squats, etc. I'm curious why you don't want to include excercise in weight loss or just overall health?

You don't need to do much if your diet is 100% changed for a couple of months. Stock up on lean proteins (fat free dairy, beans, chx breast, fish, nuts), lots of salads and fruit, drink a lot of water and get rest too and you should be able to do it!

Re: Losing Weight w/out exercise WW only

I'd be worried about what will happen when you go back to normal eating habits, after you've lost what you want to lose. If you make minor permanent changes, say exercising an hour per week, then when you do end the WW eating plans, you may find it easier to maintain that weight.
