I'm very sorry - I understand how you feel. When I was laid off it was a shock - and panic...but you will get through it and hopefully you will find something much better.

with the lost revenue - it sounds like they are firing you instead of laying you off to avoid payment of unemployment
how long have you been there - over a year and usually there needs to be more grounds for firing
do you have an employment handbook or HR you can talk to?
it may be to your adavtage to file for unemployment still and show it was not for cause

i'm so sorry that's insane that they never gave you a warning or indication - i don't think that's very professional at all. *hopefully* everything happens for a reason and this will lead you towards something even better

you should check into your office's policy's.
if they didn't follow "protocol" and your annual reviews are up to snuff, you could have grounds to sue...though I am not normally an advocate of lawsuits, generally there are steps to be taken before you can be terminated.
they were probably looking to cut the fat, and were just grasping at straws.
I am sorry this happened to you.

Sorry this happened but if you are an at will employee, then can do this.
Can you negotiate for a severance package? It sounds revenue based and I wonder if other employees are going to be let go down the road. Maybe someone had to take the fall for losing the acct.
I'm really sorry and this feels awful, but you will get a better job where you are really appreciated.
Were you happy in this job to begin with? Maybe it's a blessing in disguise?
