Do you think the stove is a new one? i can't tell...

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

That's the problem with trying to make one thing please all people. For me, I think it's terrible. It looks so austere and obviously staged, not like someone actually lives there. I sometimes get suspicious of things like that, like what are they trying to hide?

I've seen lots of staging that I do like, but it looks like someone lives there.

There's no one thing that will please everyone.... Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

do you think that stove is new or old?

i haven't been in the market for stoves in a looonnngggg time and wondered if they made them like that now?

i totally understand that some staging isn't for everyone.

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

I love that! The staging definitely works for me there.

I would have to open the stove to tell but IMO the white gives it away as old since it doesn't match anything else in the kitchen! As long as it was in working condition I wouldn't care though.

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

I love the stove and like it even more for it's "vintage" appeal.

if i had the room for a big oven / stove like that, i'd get one (if they still made them like that).

Both Viking and Bertazzoni make big, retro-looking ranges, though Viking has terrible repair issues and Bertazzoni is more about looks than power, but that's for another thread!

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

I love the look. I think it looks lived in. There is just enough furniture and not a lack of things in the home. I'm not sure about that stove though. It's very cool, but it really doesn't go with the kitchen. The rest of the kitchen looks updated. I guess you would have to see it all in person. Chat Icon

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

Very nice and great price. The stove looks new to me, but i don't care for the color. The house would be even better if it had another bedroom. Looks like a steal to me! You could add a 2nd level down the road too!

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

Not sure why it is a big deal. I guess my house looks "staged" most of the time then-lol!! While I am sure they would take out many things if I was selling my home, I like it to look clutter free like that all the time.

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

Even when i am not looking to purchase a home, i still have MLS email me new listings of areas of my choice. so, i see alot of stuff that i say "UGH! couldn't they have removed all the magnets from the fridge" or "please flush the toilet before taking the picture."

so, this was a breath of fresh air, hence my posting!

i have no affiliation to the house. thought maybe any purchasers on here may like to see it.

Are those taxes normal for Bethpage? They seem high for a house/lot that small?

I'm not even sure if that house is staged. My house is like that too though. No magnets on the fridge..no papers lying around. Maybe they just like that look

That's funny, I saw this house pop up on Listingbook this morning and thought "$349 for a 3-bedroom ranch with no basement in Bethpage? What gives?" Now I see why! It's really pretty. And there are plenty of buyers out there (like me...Chat Icon) who see the pretty and put in an offer without, you know, finding out if the boiler is 60 years old and covered in asbestos, etc. Chat Icon

LOL! AW! Dava!! that was funny and sad at the same time!

I lived like that too when my house was on the market. even with two kids. DH was always annoyed when he heard we had a showing on HIS time, he had to straighten up the toys! haha! i told him, we should live this way all the time, not just when we are selling a house... i don't think he liked that comment so much.

Re: LOVE this house! This is staging!!

let me tell you i am firm believer that staging works!!

our RE agent insisted on it. we only painted & got carpet remnants & our 1 BR co-op sold within a month!! AND we only went down $5k. not bad at all in this market.

we looked at close to 100 houses in 3 years. i ran out of soo many of them because i got dizzy from all the clutter. i am not a big fan of clutter & try to make my home neat. but i am not going to be a slave to it either.

ITA. I feel as if I am looking at the wrong house. Doesn't looked staged at all, just tidy homeowners. IMO this is what a home should always look like. Ok, maybe not totally spotless but clean and clutter-free.

My sister's home is on the market (unstaged). Again, just clean and tidy. MLS 2232826

Beautiful home-Chat Icon
I try and keep my home neat and tidy all the time too. It is hard with 2 kids but if I was selling my house there would be very little I would have to fix.

I dont think its staged....I think its what a house should look like when you are selling it....But from very recent experience and in that price range most of the houses do not look like that....they do not even look like they have been cleaned in this century.....So I think that is why this house looks staged cause in comparison it is.

right on!! i looked at a house that had an onion peel next to the garbage, sort of under the baseboard that was stuck there in dust bunnies. people are just gross. it's so refreshing to see clean, nice homes!

Why would youNOT want a home to look like this? I think it looks very nice and neat....they obviously have taken great care to make it look appealing....way better than 90% of people who don't give a damn.
