Low grade temp..wwyd?

My son has had a low grade temp and a very bad cold for a few days. The symptoms peaked Monday (we went to the doctor) and have been getting better every since. The ped just said he has a bad cold and to give it a few days(andmake sure it doesn't get worse). He also said to lay off the tylenol bc he didn't have a fever when we went (which could have been from the tylenol). Ironically, I think his fever started when he started to get better. Today, he is *almost* symptom free aside from a low grade fever. Now,he may have had a fever all along but since he didn't didn't feel warm the first few days a didn't even check.

I called the ped and he said the fever is prob just frm the cold and make sure it doesn't go up too much. I just took his temp and it was 100.8. Is that still considered low grade and would you give tylenol?

This is his first cold ad my first child so I am cluelessChat Icon

I would give Tylenol for a temp of 100.8. If by Friday he still has a little temp I would call the ped and maybe bring him in. If the temp goes up before Friday, then I would call the ped and see what she/he says, since it's been a few days already that he's had the cold. Hope Santino feels better! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I wouldn't give tylenol for a low grade fever. Sometimes their bodies need to run a little fever to get better. My ped doesn't like me medicating unless he has a high fever or if he's having trouble sleeping at night. He had a fever last week and I only gave him tylenol at night (he had 101.6). Hope Santino gets better soon!
