Low Testosterone in Men
Has anyone's DH struggled with low testosterone? What medications was he prescribed by his doctor to combat it? DH was recently diagnosed, and he's trying to decide which approach to take (gels, injections, clomid or patches)

Clomid - DH has been on/off it for like 3 years now.
ETA: Do not let him take synthetic testosterone as that will negatively impact sperm production.

Re: Low Testosterone in Men
His doctor is not allowing him to take clomid, she states he would need to see a specialist for approval for that. She is prescribing him Androgel, because the injectable medication is $$$$. So frustrating. She's been his doctor for years, and feels that there is not enough research done with men & Clomid.

Clomid. With our second ivf and have dd1.
Dd2 is natural and I just did some research and he took supplements.
Also, pumpkin seeds help a lot.

Is he seeing a urologist? I would suggest a second opinion. Clomid has brought my DH's testosterone levels into the normal range. Although it has not improved his sperm production (due to chemotherapy), it has tremendously improved his mood.

Also - androgel is synthetic testosterone - if you are TTC, I would not let my DH take it. Synthetic T does not improve sperm production, it actually negatively affects it.

Thank you for this- I showed DH and he agreed to meet with his urologist again. Scheduled for next month.
About how long did it take for your DH to feel normal again after starting clomid? DH is exhausted by the end of the day and is falling asleep on the couch at 7 every night. I feel so bad.

I honestly don't remember - he started taking it in the fall/winter 2012. I know it takes 3 months for it to affect sperm production...
