Luxury Resorts in Florida
We are thinking of doing a long weekend- 4-5 days- in late Sept.
I want to stick with Florida because it's easy and quick.
We stayed at the Sandpearl on the Gulf Coast and Margartiville in Hollywood Beach- both amazing resorts.
We might do the Sandpearl again because it's been awhile and that place was ridiculous. Spoiled us to the max and the beach down there was just amazing.
But then I was thinking maybe I should try someplace new.
Any good Ritz's or comparable anywhere in Florida?
Family friendly as DD will be with us.
I see there is a Ritz on Sanibel Island- anyone stay there? How is Sanibel?
Any other suggestions? I like a really nice hotel with a resort feel.

Re: Luxury Resorts in Florida
I think all the Ritz hotels are high end family friendly.
I don't know if one on Sanibel island. I know there is one in Naples. It is mind blowing. Really, really amazing. We have stayed twice. Would have stayed more if rates were better You can see dolphins and sandollars right off the beach. My goodness, it also sells out fast. It's better than the Carribean. But again, not cheap at all. For example, we could go to Europe cheaper than here for Spring break... so we go off peak.
Sarasota has a great Ritz and is a fun and different city to explore. Loved the restaurants and beach club. There is a great aquarium and beaches are very beautiful.
When I go to Disney, I love Ritz Orlando. I know you are not a Disney fan, but the hotel connects to the Marriott and their lazy river. We spend 2 days easy just at the resort. Worth looking into & doing the not so scary party as your intro to Disney esp in September. It's really no stress.
Haven't stayed, but did walk through the Ft Lauderdale Ritz (grandma has a condo close by and we have keys, so we often save $ and make this home base for our Florida trips). It's really nice & in a great location.
Stayed at the Miami one for a long weekend. Wasn't the biggest fan, but they were very nice to us. They pulled strings for activities for us when the weather was terrible (not their fault, but that's the service they can provide!). This hotel experience, though not the most amazing, is why we love to choose Ritz/Marriott.

Luxury Resorts in Florida
We stayed at the Ritz Amelia Island this past year. Although we did enjoy it very much, it wasn't THE most amazing hotel/resort ever. We went primarily to golf. Oh and we went in mid November and one day it was about 45 degrees not sure what Sept. is like, I hope/assume a lot warmer.

Prefer gulf Coast only because we did Hollywood/Miami this fall. But if there is something really nice on that coast I will consider it.
There is an amazing looking resort I want to try in Key Largo but I think I want to save that for a longer trip.

Thank you...this is very helpful. I stayed at the Ritz in Key Biscayne for a work conference and OMG it was fabulous. We were walking around Miami when we had sone free hours and stopped by the Ritz South Beach and I didn't think it was as nice as key biscayne. Totally different feel.
I will check all these out. Thanks!

Look into JW Marriott on Marco Island
