OMG Nicole....I am glad she is ok. I can only imagine how scared you and DH were. Please let me know what the ped. and the cardiologist say. I know you are probably up all night checking on her, I would be the same way. If you need anything please let me know!

oh god that is so scary. it happened to my daughter as well at 2 months old. she had rsv and gagged on her phlem. she turned blue until i hit her back. thank god shes ok!!!

Thank you everyone truely for all your she is doing ok but sleeping alot today, we are leaving at 12 to go to her dr.s and we will see what they say................ i will post later.....

I am in no way a DR either, but a similar thing happened to my son and it turned out to be a bad case of acid reflux. The reflux was interferring with his breathing, especially when he was laying back. It was just as you described - terrifiying. We were also in the hospital and they ran every test you could think of, which all came back negative. They put him on acid reflux medication and it didn't happen again. Good luck to you!
OMG Nicole I am so sorry that you had to experience this. I agree with the AP, as a similar thing happened to my DS when he was about 4 weeks. He had reflux, but not gerd. He actually had a problem with the part that separates the stomach from the esophagus; he was born early so it was not fully formed. Well one night I fed him, burped him & changed him and sure enough he very quietly began to choke & try to get air. Instinctually I turned him over, put the heel of my hand near his diaphragm and began to slap his back & got him breathing again. I immediately called & saw the Ped & she confirmed that he had a bit of curdled milk stuck in his throat that was restricting his breathing. She gave me some tips on how to prevent it, and once his stomach became fully developed it does not happen anymore.
I am glad to hear that both you & Madison are OK.
