making baby food - when to freeze?

i am hearing conflicting information. some say once you cook and puree, to freeze right away. others say to let it cool first at room temp before freezing.

what do you do? TIA!

I always let it cool first to prevent bacteria from growing

this is what i heard as well. how does this prevent bacteria though? it seems opposite - that bacteria would grow while sitting out. so freezing right away doesn't prevent bacteria growth? sorry, im new to solids.

if you put something very hot in the freezer it will raise the temperature in the freezer, therefore allowing bacteria to grow in general.

Just don't put it in boiling steaming hot, let it cool a few minutes, I think that's what is meant.
