making your own baby food... frozen fruit
anyone use frozen peaches or fruit to make baby food? Does it work out to be good to use? Do they make it food only, with no syrups? looking to make food only right now, not smoothies.

yes, those frozen fruit are ideal for making baby food, they usually don't need any cooking, because the freezing will break them down enough.
I love frozen peaches for this, and so does DS!

Re: making your own baby food... frozen fruit
I was just asking about this early today! I was debating using some organic frozen peaches I bought. The ingredients are: organic peaches, asorbic acid, and citric acid. I don't know if I feel comfortable with the citric acid. I know asorbic acid is in most baby food. Plums organics has just peaches w/ no citric acid or asorbic acid so I may use that instead. Not sure what I want to do yet. If I do use them I am going to bake or steam them for a little bit, then puree. What do you think?

I use frozen fruit - peaches, mango, blueberries, etc. - there are organic brands that don't have any added anything. I've done it with veggies too. I cook mine, puree, and refreeze in ice cube trays. Works out great!

Trader Joe has some good stuff. My DD loves the peas.
