I had to do everything in my power not to whip out some crazy. I don't think she realized at all that her comments about male ob's could be offensive to others.

i dont have any experience in L&D but having tried both male and female ob/gyn i do prefer male ob/gyns to female.
IMO from my experience females tend to act like they know everything and your concerns arent as valid because they themselves have gone through some of the stuff so they write it off as normal...oddly enough males actually tend to listen a bit more to your concerns. however, i do find that NO ob/gyn is as good as my male RE!!!
ITA. I NEVER wanted to have a male ob/gyn because I am a very private person. BUT, then I met with a few women and had very negative experiences similar to what FlowerWife is saying. I found the male ob's to be much more understanding, patient, non-judgemental and had overall great bedside manner.

I agree with this! Honestly saying male ob/gyns are perverts is just silly. Then what about woman?!?!? They must be also and lesbians! Lol.
Seriously though I've been seeing a male ob this pregnancy. I have seen a woman all my life. I was told to see every ob/gyn there because you never know who will be delivering and I can honest to say I like the male ob/gyn the best!!! He's very nice and answers all my questions and really takes his time when seeing me. All the other obs seem to rush me out. At this point I'm thinking of changing my doctor to the male ob. I like him a lot!!!!!!!

Wow, I can't believe I missed all the  .
My OB is male before that I had another male. Whatever. I really don't care who is taking care of me, just as long as my son is healthy and delivered safely. Nurse, OB or whoever. All of my doctors for my entire life have been male with the exception of my current dermatologist.
If you want to get off on my lady parts when I'm not around, fine. Just do your job on my watch.

I mean, cop wives are always told how to be safe and stuff, and wives of bankers are advised how to save their money.........but OB wives? "Honey, be sure to do your Kegel exercises!"
