Well how about Cooperstown? It is a baseball tournament in NY. It is usually for 12u and up, and now saying if you want your child to play in the tournament, they need to be vaccinated...at 12
It’s not even a sport with close contact!!! Again, common sense is gone...non existent.
So annoyed about this - and it's not even approved for those 12-16 yet. So wrong!

It really scares me the psychosis that has emerged in just one short year. Seeing how stupid people really are and how much common sense is missing from this country.
Mind blowing.
Instilled and spread fear. It’s an actual marketing tool and it affects parts of our brain to the point that it does not allow us to see things with common sense or critically.

It’s mind blowing how they can control people.

There isn't a shortage now - you can get same day appointments at a number of places, demand has actually declined.
Which makes me nervous that they are going to open it up to younger kids sooner.
I got the vaccine, I figured I'd take my chance and it was the way to get back to normalish sooner. But, I'm not ready to give it to my children. Especially to play baseball (my son is scheduled for Cooperstown next year).

Absolutely and how so many will just follow and not question things. It is scary how so many adults need attention and want to be in the “in crowd” to show off they got the vaccine. I know someone who didn’t even know he would have to get another one in 6 months. They just follow blindly and the government and CDC is loving this.

It’s all about control. Look at the people who double mask, who are walking around with gloves that is touching everything, who are afraid to have people in their home or socialize, even outside.

Ah - I took it as people were so stressed about trying to get it in the beginning and now it's available everywhere. Many people were lying to get the vaccine before they were eligible because of the fear of a shortage.
They are pretty close to being finished though for kids 12-16 with Pfizer though - hence why Cooperstown announced those 12+ should get it (assuming they would be eligible before the tournaments start in July). I'm thinking as vaccines are so readily available, the announcement will be coming soon.

God I was hoping it would take longer to approve it for children. I have zero desire to give it to my child. And I just worry they will make it mandatory for school and I'll be forced to. It's awful that I even have to worry about something like this to be honest...

Scary IMO that they are using kids as testing too. Though no one wants to admit it, this virus has hit the most vulnerable and they should be the ones getting vaccinated and be trials if you want to call it that. Not ones who will probably never get sick or if they do very minor.
I would be more scared of my young child getting sick from the vaccine or getting an after effect later on as they really don’t know all the things that could happen to you.

Yes it is awful! We as parents need to stand up for our kids! If everyone pulls out of Cooperstown dreams park and goes to all star village which is not requiring vaccines last I heard - guess what, you think they want to go bankrupt?? But if everyone complied without question - it wlll spread and soon everyone will require. Same with colleges and schools.
Think about it - they tried to mandate vaccines for health care workers- they protested, brought lawsuits etc and it never happened - same for the teachers - every time it’s mentioned the unions are up in arms this no mandatory vaccination for them. But, we let them force this on our kids!!??? We are the ones to blame.

Totally agree on this. My one son plays several sports, school and travel, but they are NOT high risk sports, so no testing is involved. Why cant these kids just show negative tests?

EXACTLY! Since they are allowing 11 year olds to do that at Cooperstown. I understand needing testing at least since they are going to be bunking there but mandating a vaccine is overkill.

Re: Mandatory Covid Vaccines for Colleges
NYU and Princeton have joined the list for mandatory vaccines so I find it very hard to believe that not all colleges will do the same.
Sad for these people who want to attend school and forced into doing something they don’t want to.

Re: Mandatory Covid Vaccines for Colleges
Re Cooperstown, I do believe they were already told by the powers that be that Pfizer would be approved for kids by May. These things they know, they are not split second decisions, I bet they knew this before the kiddie trials even started. The first week of tournaments is second week of June so even if everyone was hot to trot on giving their kids shots to play baseball, it would be cutting it close on the timing. I know a few kids whose team already pulled out. I hope most teams cancel honestly.

Some of my friends kids either pulled out, or switched them over to the All Star Field.

Some of my friends kids either pulled out, or switched them over to the All Star Field.
If everyone pulls out or switches you will see how fast the requirements change. If people go along with it - all star village will follow suit ASAP.
They should at least have alternatives. Like you can stay in a hotel vs. Sleep there, negative tests etc.

Re: Mandatory Covid Vaccines for Colleges
I always see things about people suing the state due to Covid restrictions- gyms- and suddenly they were allowed to open, restaurants so they can open with more capacity etc. If it really comes down to this vaccine being mandated for school is there anything we can do? Any lawyers willing to fight this as a class action suit? How do we go about fighting for our children? I'd be in!

Mandatory Covid Vaccines for Colleges
I cant see PreK-12 schools ever requiring this. As for colleges, I'm all for it for resident students. Not sure it's absolutely necessary for commuter students though.

What would they do if more than half of each district unenrolled and did homeschooling? Teachers would be laid off and that would light a fire under the unions butt....sadly nothing will be done unless the union is on our side.
I will hire someone to homeschool my children or move if I feel it won’t be repealed.
