Is it very obvious when you lose your mucous plug? Did you feel it or see it when you went to the bathroom?

Sorry, I just want to know what to expect.

YES - totally obvious. I went to the bathroom this morning and when I wiped there was a bit of blood on the tp. I didn't think anything of it, until I got up to flush and noticed a brownish glob of mucous with blood at the tip in the toilet bowl. I honestly couldn't believe it.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

I "think" i lost my mucous plug about 2 weeks ago- I say think because it was after DH and I bd'ed so I wasnt sure if it was discharge from that or the real mp.

It looked like thick snot- no brown or blood.

I had 1 episode of Braxton Hicks which hurt kinda bad.... then I had an emergency dr's visit on Wed when I had some stabbing pains in my pelvis which the dr said was my pelvic bones shifting.

I am 50% effaced but no dilation as of Wed.

Working until Friday so baby is free to come anytime after that.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

I have been losing my plug for weeks. It comes out in globs of yellowish snot-looking mucus. No blood or brown, but it is definitely the plug. Some people lose it one one lump, others lose it gradually.

I started pulling some stuff out to pack, like my toiletries, slippers, flip flops, socks, some pj's, huge pads Chat Icon and breast pads, but thats about it. I'm usually pretty good when it comes to packing, but for some reason I feel freaken lost when its comes to my hospital bad...

I can't believe it is finally our month....my due date is exactly 2 weeks from today. My bags are packed but I still feel like I am forgetting something. My last day of work is next Friday. Please keep your fingers crossed that I don't go into labor while I'm at work..I am a teacher!
I went to the dr. yesterday and I am 1 cm dilated.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

This is probably a very stupid question but do we need to get the thick maxi pads? Can we use the ultra thin super absorb pads?

I haven't bought a box of pads since jhs. I've been using tampons since the very beginning. Even then, I remember buying super thin pads, not the thick kinds.

I haven't bought a pad in years. I went out and got always infinity in overnight and heavy flow. They are pretty thin. I also bought pretty thick Always overnight pads. I got them since they seemed to cover alot. I figured I might need these in the hospital. I packed all three.

Do you have to rush to Labor and Delivery or to the OB when you loose it? Someone told me after I loose it, I will have my child in 24 hours....Chat Icon

I believe you can lose your mucous plug a few weeks in advance. It doesn't mean you are going into labor right away. You may be confusing the 24 hour window with your water breaking. I know they try to get the baby out within 24 hours of your water breaking.

It varies from each person, when one of my sister's lost their plug she went into labor 48 hours later a friend of mine took a week before anything happened. You never now carissa.

I have been a 1/2 cm dilated since last thursday and my OB says fif DD doesn't gain more weight he will induce me with 16 days left until my due date. Hopefully he won't have too, now I have to go for biophysicals twice a weekChat Icon Chat Icon

I'm going to let this baby cook until the end of the week but planning to do a lot of walking next weekend.

My doctor told me that I am already 2cm dilated. I had light bleeding this past weekend, which was caused by the thinning of the cervix. I forgot to ask how effaced I was.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

I have my second doctor's appt for this week, On monday the doc noticed a big spike on the monitor which was a contraction. Now I know what the weird feeling was. I have been feeling them at night and off and on during the day 20-30 mins apart or more. Its tolerable. Thursday I go for my biophysical along with sono and another internal to see if this little lady is moving closer down.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

I hate this waiting game!

I keep overanalyzing symptoms. Whenever I have a braxton hicks contraction, I wonder if it is a real contraction. I keep wondering when my water will break.

Did you guys stop working yet?

I was planning to work until the day before my due date (March 27) but now I'm thinking I may only work until the end of this week (March 13).
