3 cm and 100% effaced and waiting

WOW! You are going to have a baby any day!

I'm so bummed that I forgot to ask how effaced I was at my last appointment. I can feel my cervix thinning out though. It's getting painful.

I have my second doctor's appt for this week, On monday the doc noticed a big spike on the monitor which was a contraction. Now I know what the weird feeling was. I have been feeling them at night and off and on during the day 20-30 mins apart or more. Its tolerable. Thursday I go for my biophysical along with sono and another internal to see if this little lady is moving closer down.

I'm so bummed that I don't get any more sonos. I don't get a biophysical either. They said everything was normal so it was unnecessary. Chat Icon

I hate this waiting game!

I keep overanalyzing symptoms. Whenever I have a braxton hicks contraction, I wonder if it is a real contraction. I keep wondering when my water will break.

Did you guys stop working yet?

I was planning to work until the day before my due date (March 27) but now I'm thinking I may only work until the end of this week (March 13).

feel dumb asking, but can you please tell me exactly what a braxton hicks contraction feels like. I don't know if I've every had one and if I did I didn't realize it.

I think it is just a pre-labor contraction. For me, my belly will feel very hard and tight and it hurts, almost like a cramp. It usually lasts a minute (but feels like much longer). These contractions are relatively new for me. I can only imagine how much it will hurt when it is real labor!

I know DH and I have been so spoiled since getting a sono almost every single week since week 20 because of her umbilical cord issue. Thank god she is delevoping good, it makes me nervous when they told me her head was measuring 3wks behind and she is still really small in weight. It drives me nuts, I find out tomorrow if she gained anymore weight or if they want to induce me.

That sounds like what my lazame teacher explained to me as regular contraction, lol. So how are we suppose to tell the difference. I'm so clueless about all this, lol.

Previously (around maybe weeks 32-36?) I had a different type of tightening of the belly. I THINK that is also considered a braxton hick contraction too. my belly would feel super hard and uncomfortable but wasn't painful. The pain part is just new (like the past week or so). I THINK depending on how far along you are, you just feel the contraction more.

Today MAY be my last day of work. I'm going to TRY to work a few days next week. We'll see how I feel this weekend.

DH and my family think I should stop working immediately. I don't want to burn unnecessary vacation days. I already tacked on 2 weeks after my 12 week maternity leave and want to save 2 weeks for the end of the year for an actual vacation!

Congratulations!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I'm still 2cm dilated but 80% effaced! I officially lost my mucous plug yesterday. I've had light bleeding for about a week now. Doctor said this light bleeding was normal and was caused by my cervix thinning out.

This baby should be arriving any moment now. The wait game is just terrible!
