Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

Hi girls....found this on babycenter.com!

Why do I have to go to the bathroom so often?

You may have noticed a more frequent need to pee even before you realized you were pregnant. In fact, it's one of the most common early signs of pregnancy, starting about six weeks into your first trimester.

Why do you suddenly need to go all the time? It's mostly because the amount of blood in your body increases dramatically when you get pregnant, which leads to a lot of extra fluid getting processed through your kidneys and ending up in your bladder. Eventually, you may also feel pressure on your bladder from your growing uterus.

You may notice that you need to get up to pee more often during the night in particular. That's because when you lie down, some of the fluid that you retained in your legs and feet during the day makes its way back into your bloodstream and eventually into your bladder.

Some pregnancy books say that you'll begin to feel some relief early in your second trimester as your uterus rises out of your pelvis, but research doesn't support this idea. The fact is, you may not get that fabled second trimester break at all.

In one study in which pregnant women actually measured how often and how much they urinated, researchers found that both the frequency and volume increased over the course of the women's pregnancies, with no relief in the second trimester.

Try not to let this get you down, though. You'll probably feel better in other ways during the second trimester and, as a result, you may find it less of a chore to be running to the bathroom all the time.

=) Nicole

I also feel tired plus I often feel flatulent(gross I know)!

PS..
I had my 1st Dr's appt. on Monday and all went well. He showed us the baby's heartbeat on the monitor but it was too early to hear. I was so excited and the pregnancy no longer feels surreal.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

Hi I am Donna. I am 6 weeks preg. today. Originally due March 19th but we found out last week that we are having twins so they moved my due date to Feb. 28th. It was so exciting we saw the hearts beating yesterday. We couldn't hear them though. The Doctor said def. next week we'll be able to hear them. It is so exciting and scary. As far as M/S I do not have it yet. I hope I didn't just jinx myself. My checst is huge and sore that sleeping is terrible. So hard to get comfy and then once I do I have to get up and go to the bathroom. So annoying. Oh well, I have to keep reminding myself that it is all for a good cause. Good Luck to all!!

I went for my ultrasound on Wednesday, and it turns out I am a week behind where I thought I was (because my cycles were so long). I am due March 6, and I am 8 weeks today. We saw the heartbeat, which was such a relief. It was hard to make out the rest, because the baby's so tiny. It was so exciting!!!

I have my first appointment tomorrow and I am super nervous too! I hope they do a sono. I really want to see an image.

Did they specifically tell you they were only doing bloodwork?

They said i would see the nurse practioner for bloodwork and make an appt. to see the dr. I'm assuming no sono.

I am SO with all of you exhausted girls....I am working this summer (I teach) and I am feeling awful. I am not hungry and only carbs are appealing to me right now. I am getting 9 hours of sleep a night, and somehow I am still wiped out at work. Don't get me wrong...I am thrilled to be pregnant...but I can't wait for the second trimester to start.

I'm also exhausted. I don't have any other pregnancy symptoms though. I had frequent urination in the beginning but it has ceased for the time being. I also have lost my appetite. I thought we were supposed to get cravings!

Have you girls felt morning sickness yet?

My gf told me her morning sickness started kicking in later.

Re: MARCH MOMMIES TO BE THREAD!!

Still exhausted. I wake up tired and start my day tired. Still trying to find a way to sleep at work, maybe when the temps get cooler I can sleep in my car. I am also very gassy. I can't even stand to be around myself - its that bad. Anyone going for a NT scan. I go August 19.
