Maternity Clothes Sizing Question
I went to Motherhood Maternity last weekend to get a belly band (yup..jeans are gettin tight already lol) and they had an awesome sale rack of some spring-summery tops for clearance + buy 1 get one free...I bought 2 tops in "small" even though I'm usually XS...
I don't have much of a belly yet and I know I will eventually get pretty big but these tops seem like they will be too big even up top, like falling down my boobs even when they get bigger (though I know it's hard to judge now).
I know everyones different and you really won't ever know what you'll look like, (this is my first) but what do you usually buy? Is the general rule your reg pre-prego size and they compensate?
They were ridiculously cheap and a spin in the dryer will probably help them tighten up a little if I need to so I'm sure it will be fine but I'm wondering for future buys....

Re: Maternity Clothes Sizing Question
I bought my regular size, and I am now 35 weeks and everything fits me just fine with the exception of my low-rise jeans. BUT...they fit, they are just really annoying and uncomfortable and I bought them knowing that they probably wouldn't cut it in the 3rd trimester, I just loved how the felt and fit back when I was buying them.
As a reference I've gained 26 lbs...so....I think most maternity clothes will still fit even with reasonable weight gain....and as your belly grows, if you buy them in your regular size.

Re: Maternity Clothes Sizing Question
I'm 23 weeks, and so far, I've been fine buying everything in my regular size, which is a medium. I bought some tops around 12 weeks, and they still fit fine around my ever-growing belly, with room to spare. The clothing is meant to accommodate you as you grow.

Re: Maternity Clothes Sizing Question
This is what I thought - I was too lazy to try them on in the store. Oh well- I am sure they will work... eventually :)
