Mattress & Box Spring

Anyone go through the process of purchasing a mattress & box spring who can share their experience? What are the things to look for? How much is too much to pay? Where to go to buy them?

I would suggest you go to a store and take your time. Don't feel stupid laying down in every bed-everyone does this - LOL.

We got ours at Sleepy's

As far as price, IMO you are going to be sleeping on this for a long time and to me a bed is one of those things you just don't settle for. I would not look at the $$ so much and just get what you are comfortable with.

PS - Don't be afraid to bargain with any place either, everything is negotiable

We went to Sleepworks in Massapequa and ended up getting a latex bed.

We took our time, we layed on everything and Chris at the store was very knowledgeable about all kinds of beds.

Love the new bed and their customer service was excellent.

By the way...most Sleepys have a computerized test where you lay down on this special bed and then your spouse lays down after you. From this test, it will show you which beds are most comfortable for you and at least point you in the right direction.

Thanks guys! We went to Sleepys twice and went through the mattress test each time. Today we purchased a king size Simmons Beautyrest Pillow Top. It will be here tomorrow.
