Maybe getting a trampoline. Opinions...
I know my DD really wants one, and I was all set to get it for her, but a friend's son broke his wrist on one this week and needs surgery for it. This same friend was just telling me a week ago not to get it for DD because they are too dangerous (her son must've been at a neighbor's house cause they don't have one).
So now I'm seriously reconsidering getting one.
My niece fell off her bike and broke her arm, so nothing is injury-less, but I'm just not sure. Also, my DD is in gymnastics and uses the trampoline there every week anyway.
What do you think?

I hate them. Personally it's not worth the insurance coverage for it. Some will say you don't have to let them know, but if someone gets hurt and you don't have ins. It's a pain in the ass. No thanks.

Yes you could get injured on a bike or even walking down the sidewalk but there is a reason insurance companies often raise your rates for them because the incidence of accidents is higher. I knew many people growing up who broke an arm or leg on one of them. There is a remote chance of even more serious injuries. I think it depends on your comfort level. Gymnastics also is a higher injury sport. But many participate (my kids do), but you have to go with yourcomfort level. As long as you know your child (or if you allow them her friends) could land wrong and possible break something and are willing to take that risk then go for it. I think it is one that is very personal.
Etd to add we won't be getting one and Idon't want my girls on them at others homes.

I think they are too dangerous. Risk of injury is just WAY too high for my comfort level.

I would talk to your insurance company. Many will drop you or at the very least raise your rates, which is something to consider. It's hard enough to get reasonable insurance on LI.

Nope. Wouldn't do it.
I am sure there are lots of things that DS is going to want, that are not worth the risk.

I personally wouldn't. Our friends daughter severely broke her arm in 3 places requiring 2 surgeries with hardware.

Crashing, but my sister broke her foot/ankle and needed surgery after using a trampoline she begged my dad for. And she was a teenager when this happened! I would personally be even more concerned with a younger kid using it. IMO not worth it AT ALL!

Crashing but a girl I went to high school with landed wrong on a trampoline and her leg bone (below the knee) snapped in half.
