Medicine for gas, what is safe?
I accidentally posted this on the Parenting board! (...talk about how not to get invited to a GTG!!)
By the end of the day I have terrible gas pains. I don't drink soda and I've tried avoiding gassy foods, but I am still in agony! What can we take?

I've been taking Gas-x lately, at the approval of my perinatologist.
I don't know if it makes a difference what trimester you're in, though, so check with your doctor.

I had this with my first pregnancy- constipation aggravated it- virtually non existent with this third pregnancy because of MIRALAX!! What a difference- no constipation and no gas pains.
Dr. says Miralax is safe- stays in intestines (like colace) and does not go into our bloodstream and hence does not get to the fetus.

I take Colace once a day (two if needed) as per my perinatologist instructions since I take extra iron a day.
