Metformin girls
Do you cheat once in a while with carbs?
I have to admit, over the past 3 mos. I have been reallly good - since I am a carb addict - but every now and then I will give in and have a bite of pasta or mashed potatoes. A bite!!
Now, the punishment for that...a different story!

Re: Metformin girls
If i eat like 1/2 slice of bread I have a problem!
I like it though....I've lost about 10 lbs in 3 months...that may seem like not a lot but to me it's great bc my weight would not budge for yearrssss.

Re: Metformin girls
I told you the other day, you look great! I think it's a combination of everything you are doing to get yourself ready for this cycle!
I did cheat once in a while, and would have adverse affects But those affects wore off the longer I was on the Met. But I did manage to lose 30lbs over the course of the year that I was on it.

Re: Metformin girls
I think everyone reacts differently to it - The ONLY thing I noticed would set me off for misery was too much Sugar or alcohol (usually wine, I was fine w/ Scotch)
The carbs didn't really bother me -

Re: Metformin girls
Carbs don't bother me as much as fat, grease and oil does.
I had pepperoni pizza for dinner tonight and know I'm going to pay for it later.

Re: Metformin girls
OMG. I had a really stressful day at work yesterday...I went hog wild, most I've had that I shouldn't have in 3 months
A slice of veggie pizza (ate the veggies and cheese left "most" of the bread
A Pepperidge Farm Chocolate Chunk cookie
Some pasta noodles
A hot chocolate with whip cream
Believe me I paid for it.

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a hard time with it.

Re: Metformin girls
In my experience, I found that if I combined my carbs with some protein, it kept me from having any adverse effects. Carb-only meals caused problems.
Like, if I ate just a bagel for breakfast, I paid for it. If I ate half a bagel with a small yogurt, I was fine.
